As an Indian we have much much better and very well defined food system. The fact is we have fogotten our own food system and because we are following american concept of foods we are creating more problem than solutions. All diet plans, from US are really screwed up plans. It may give you short term benefit. Our food system is the best. Here I would like to bring to notice that before few years (may be more than 10) there was survey by some government department about Indian fast food and its nutritional values as well as if they can be classified as junk food. They concluded that none Indian fast food can be catagorized as junk food - if prepared according to prevailing Indian recepie. Also at that time PANI PURI was more than 55% of total fast food and it was one of the healthiest food. How hyginically made is another story though. I have mentioned in this thread even before, that food should remain highly regional affair - as far as day to day eating is concern. Food habits are formed over the years based on available food. Food grow as per prevailing climatic conditions, so tempering with it causes problems only. Indian food is any day better than western foods and recipe.

if its IDE than its supposed to be expensive. Just check that its new and under warranty. I have one 80 GB HDD (Desktop) of seagate under warranty (Got replacement just before few weeks for sale) If you are interested let me know. I also have spare 80 GB laptop HDD for sale too. -
Fast food - rather junk food are culprit for many thing. Including teeth and gum problems, heart and joint problems and obesity. Best way to eat is to use refined food as little as possible. Just dont look at nutritional values when you want to form a good habit. Learn how to eat simple food, then look at nutritional values. Refined foods has very high amount of fats, synthetic flavouring agents and useless chemicals which alter our body balances.

Finally I zeroed on ACER ASPIRE 5738Z Configuration - 15.6" WXGA, LED backlit. Intel P4, T4200 processor, 2 Ghz. 1 MB L2 Cache (Model with T6400 was costing about 33500) 3 GB DDR 3 RAM (Future proofing - I can upgrade with another 2 or 4 GB module next year when DDR 3 RAM become cheaper.) 320 GB eSATA HDD Wifi, BT, Card reader, HDMI, 4 USB port etc. PRO ( I found) 1. Reasonablly priced (I got for 28250 with Linux OS). Will install Windows 7 currently, later buy OEM OS from some where - if needed. For foreign travel will install official XP licence I have.) 2. Good battery life (About 2 hours 45 minutes, normal usage. More than 3 hours 30 minutes in when not used and lying idle) 3. Big bright and good screen. Ofcourse not exclusive to ACER. CONS 1. Delicate built (Than HP or Dell,, but its not a big problem for me.) 2. No OS so no good utilities like Grid Vista, Acer Power smart (Said to increase battery life by double) or back up mamanger (WM7 has good back up utility) 3. Poor quality speakers (Some how HP has best speakers, for those who like to watch movie may not enjoy speakers, though ACER says it has DOLBY and Virtual surround)

With all due respect to doctors, I think these days we get confused between information and Knowledge. Knowledge is information which one uses to good. Where as information is just an information about potentiality of situation. Doctors has information about cure and remedies not health. Health - just like safety - its concept..... concepts are not useful unless practiced.

^^ Yes, but during peak festival times, they do have some times mind blowing offers. Before about 6 months, I bought samsung solid state cam corder (My partner is using and forgot model number with 4 GB onboard memory + Expandable upto another 8 GB) for just 9K against 14K retail other places.

I am using car CD player as I drive about 90 minutes every day. Books which are ripped well are usually broken into pieces of 3 to 10 minutes. So they become very convinient. One which has long tracks may cause problem. They may be broken into small pieces. There are MP3 splitters available, which insert even ID and tag data in split files, which I think could be better way for people who wants to listen audio books on MP3 players.

Acer are agreed delicately built but certainly hardware goes inside is superior for given price - but then who uses it more than 3-4 years. I am very happy with the performance of my lappy right now but I am not getting original battery. One seller is giving original battery for 5.5K. Which I do not want to spend. Else old matte screens are very comfortable. I am trying to sell my lappy. Mostly I will settle on ACER Timeline 4810 or 5810 I lost very good offer in Croma (Buy Acer time line and get 10 MP, samsung DIgi Cam free , this scheme was only till 16th Aug.)

see i dont see movie or listen to music, never ever. Netbooks are surely not for me due to screen size. I spend enough on cells so have to save on laptops. Acer range seems to ne too good. dell has good customizable models but turning out to be expensive than acer. Will have to do home work to save money

thanks for suggestions. Smaller screens are not very convenient. I want larger than 14" These days some how AMD processors are giving poor battery performance than intel.

I read articles way back about 15 years back when there was no internet and only source of good information was lone British Library in Ahmedabad. Basically kideny stone occurs due to two reason one is excessive oxalate (even found in cabbage and cauliflower , therefore they are supposed to be dipped in water for longer before consuming - it also dilutes and remove pesticides used on both the vegetables, cauliflower is very delicate vegetable so very high amount of pesticides are used) When I read it was based on logical assumption - that high oxalate food causes kidney stone. It had no back up of any research specific to soya meals or products. Also I am not authority in any thing I say - so use your common senses. We have to keep one thing in mind, body has very superb ability to fight out pollutants, undesirable substances and microbiological attacks. But it has to work very hard for it hence overall body get fatigued. There for at times for no reason we get sick. Even if our body can digest many unwanted or undesirable substances do you think - continuing its consumption will not lead to any problems?

what i mean is when health or fitness or body is centre of concern, its wise to consider all pro and cons . i have been in martial arts, weight training- there for in body building and other actiive sports like foot ball . Ofcourse not competative. When if one can prolong their desire to remain health for longer years of life, gradual change in attitude offset all negative effect of diet. Else it spoils leter years of life. Me perhaps being eldest hence experiecen of various age stage saying this. All, this discussion perhaaps lead to one goal - what ever life span may be - living healty, looking and feeling good internally as well as externally..

According to my observations and study of various reports of profiles of various ailments (non infective diseases), I have reached to conclusion that food is highly regional affair and it should never be made global. Soya beans are very good source of protein but has so many limitations or health implications when consumed in high hardness water areas. Same applies to all sort of proteins. If one is leaving in high water hardness area beaware of too much of proteins, you may get kidney stone and other kidney related problems. Same applies to milk and milk product as well as poultry / meats. Ideally speaking vegetarian diet is the best diet. However for performance increase one has to look for protein from animal sources. It is very important to state here that globally animals are fed with grains than grass since 1960, fat content has increased dramatically in all meat products. Meas if you consume more meat in hopes to get more protein, you get more fat and beyond one limit performance degrading cholesterol too. This is applicable to milk too. Quality of milk has changed a lot. Meat and milk has not more steroids and banned substances than ever before. So key is to balance between diet from vegetable and non vegetable sources. We must all keep one thing in mind while discussing about health that body building, performance sports and health are different from each other. Health may come along with any exercise / performance sports as long as done naturally. Supplements beyond safe limits & performance enhancing drugs never bring health. They just bring healthy feeling for the time being. There are many supplements which contain some or other forms of performance enhancing drugs - without mentioning about it. They are seldom approved by FDA / other such agencies. Always keep away from all sort of performance enhancing drugs - even if its claimed to be of herbal sources. If one really wants to enhance performance - look for basic drugs like ashwagandha (Herb in poweder form only from reliable sources), shilajit (If you get original) to name few.

Ayurvedic remedies are effective - at times very effective - provided one follows entire regime. Including food, exercises and even sleeping times, eating time etc. Ayurved is complete science of health. Modern days we confuse Ayurved with science of curing and healing - because modern medicine system is science of curing and healing. More than Swine flu, we Indian need to be cautious about TB, Malaria, Influenza (Kills half a million a year) and water borne diseases which spreads at much faster pace than H1N1 and kills more people every year than new diseases and hygiene in general. To me it appears to be hand in glove with pharma cos, government and other wasted interests. Else there is no reason for health minister to make statement that 1/3rd of population will be affected in next 2 years by swine flu. Government job is to create awareness not panic. Best way to prevent any disease is to keep your immune system at peak by proper food, sleep and exercise (Still failures may occur). Learn how to control your emotions and stress. Maintain proper hygiene - personal, residential and community. Do not eat processed food or food from unknown sources Including fast foods from Mc Donalds, Pizza huts, KFC or any other multinational brands. (They are biggest health hazard - read book fast food nation and read US health statistics to realize - Any one needs audio book, I can give)

No I dont think I will get any reply as this may be used as reccomendations from concern parties. Reason for sending this was to create pressure on TRAI to frame laws protecting consumers. More reply they get, more pressurized they are.
