National sms are not offered by airtel. I think now reliance too do not offer it to new subscription. So good at 15 paise... Reliance do not offer in prepaid too.

All number games. More than 50% connections probably are temporary purchase where they buy make calls as per promo scheme. I know people who has one permanent incoming phone and 3-4 ever changing out going handsets. Surely tele density is increasing, but not as much as shown on paper.

Expecting GSM data to replace any wired or wireless data connection is just a dream. GSM data is pathetic, even in us and europe. wireless data except wifi and wimax has very high latency and can not be used for many latency sensitive application like certain gaming, full resolution video conferencing etc. average speed of evdo rev A is 500 kbps in us and 3G GSM is hardly 350 kbps.

I don't think reliance is cheater, perhaps we expect too much for too little from reliance. And they were constrained to do so because of cdma technology. Reliance gsm will surely success, however, they will be able to attract high revenue customers after some time and perhaps after number portability.

^^^ I agree we have best prices. But UNLIMITED means UNLIMITED. They should not use deceptive words. What prevent them from saying 10GB? Also what is the reason for them to have FUP which may say that if you use beyond limit you will be penalized , in what ever way. I have always believed that our telecom services are cheapest and perhaps best for the prices we are offered. Also indian customer care is far superior than western world. But at the same time service providers do take advantage of our regulations and consumer ignorance.

BSNL may improve but it will be not as good as reliance as its Rev - 0 However, my experience is BSNL do deliver what they claim, once their services are stabilized. Till then its worst - as when you complaint, you dont get to listen to sweet voices.

Looking at the way tata and reliance introduced evdo (3g) I am sure it is cdma gang stalling introduction of 3G in india. Formerly they said they can not provide 3G because of government , then they said it will be under ISP licence hence only data. But actual product is supporting voice too. I don't see any reason for government to reject or object evdo as far as they use same frequency spectrum. EVDO is very efficient it it. Also I request all rimwebians to protest against 10GB cap for unlimited. I am not going to be reliance customer in most cases - though I respect it as a company.

Those who are thinking that evdo will be substitute for adsl broadband, then mostly they will be highly disappointed. 3 mbps is burst speed . On evdo average speed ogre 500 to 800 kbps is considered very decent. First of all we all must object word unlimited when there is a cap.

Lets start another campaign like we all did for 1 re / kb. Unlimited with cap? It happens only in India.

If your requirement is just voice and sms why you want to spend more? Let service provider sibsidize your handset, its not wise to spend even 100 bucks more than required on cdma. I will not suggest cracking or unlocking cdma handsets, its not worth time and effort we put. I wasted 5 years with this on cdma so advising.

Where it is launched? Will it provide all india roaming ? If yes indeed great plans.

Buy suitable smart phone like Mogul, 6700 or treo Its closest to desktop browsing. Java phone browsing is no fun.

I don't know if there is any active community for airtel the way we have for reliance. Rimweb.in has succeeded once (atleast I believe ) in compelling reliance to go back on decision. I am sure airtel can be pressurized if community (mainly users) do so.

New network, irrespective of company, problems remains for few months. It vanishes gradually.

Hope after moving your sms your store has not changed. I mean if you moved sms which were there on phone memory, you are still using phone memory as sms store. Check message - settings - other - memory in use

I will surely sign, though I am not airtel BB user. But they can do this in any service.

WM any day better than blackberry. Unless you need real push mail.
