There are two ways of setting Hard: press up key and insert battery, when palm logo comes up release key. Safe mode like boot: press power key and insert battery, release when palm logo appear. Remove problematic program which cause restart or crash -

Good Points About Lg Low Cost Handsets, Based On My Experience With Lg 3500
kshah replied to kshah's topic in LG
Amit thanks for drawing attention of mods forremoval of file. I backed up to try to check if AT commands are enabled in BIN. If you analyze price, then 950 mAH battery of Nokia cost about 800 and LG Rs. 650. handsets Rs. 950 - 1000 You get 1 year warranty, new charger and handset which can be synced with computer. Charging time has to be more as, to keep cost low, they have reduced charger current to 450 mA, max, means ideally it should not take less than 3 hours (if phone is off) -
End Of Cdma / Evdo For Telus And Bell In Canada
kshah replied to HetalDP's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
It is not possible. No CDMA player will exit CDMA but I belive CDMA will be catering to the needs of pure voice segment as it is more cost effective. Also CDMA player will have advantage of lower infrastructure cost of their GSM. -
I got my BSNL EVDO data card on Saturday, i.e. 19/8/2008 and it was activated on tuesday, i.e. 21/8/2008 I am given ZTE AC8700 USB modem, which almost looks like TATA indicom modem. It was very easy to install and first time chinese device driver was installed flawlessly, for me. I used yesterday for about 4-5 hours and it gave me consistent upload / download speed on 600-700 kbps and peak speed was 1100 kbps. It is almost half the BSNL broad band I am using. But then in EVDO I get mobility (ENtire city, yet to try in other areas) and Its unlimited for Rs. 500 I tried to clone its DATA to make INDIA's FIRST PPC with EVDO access but I could not succeed. Because BSNL has disabled VOICE CODEC on EVDO data card and it can not log on to 1X network. Even PRL is IS-683C (Reliance and 1X netowrk uses IS-683A) and PRL aquisition type is HDR only. No 1X. So I think I will have to try harder to clone it on PPC. Before that I need to understand authentication methos for different PRL standards. Lets see.

Try using Softick Audio gateway. as your receiver may asking for A2DP http://www.softick.com/bluetooth-audio/ Here is callrec k@y maker. You may have to find callrec 5.2 and then install callrec 6 over it to work. This key@en work till ver 5.2 CallRec.4.0.KEYMAKER.zip -
What peace of mind? I came across rimwebian who bought 2 htc handset and both went thru warranty repair finally settled for bb. In india they sell poor stuff, believe me. If u value money don't buy poor quality handsets. Big brands too can make pathetic hand sets. Nokia is another such example in cdma.

That GPS is based on information from more than one transmission tower. Its mendatory to implement such GPS in US. But in India who cares? -
Rakesh, instead of budget, if you post your requirement and then suggestion is more precise. On rimweb, sadik is reliable importer and seller. AFAIK, he is selling PPC 6800, 6900 and Palm treo 755P If you are going to use handset for browsing, certainly, PPC are better, but if you are looking for value for money, robust and reliable PDA cum phone, PALM treo 755P is just amazing.

In India its not possible as we have CPP (call party pay) regime. US is still struggling for CPP. India is one of most successful country in CPP. Thanks to TRAI.

Some times recycling phone will help. Palm has this problem since the days of Treo 700P. But at the same time, data speed is faster in palm than other devices. Even 700 and 755 are much faster than palm centro too. -
Use diego to change or reset security code.
-
Crome is faster till you use their proxies. Else FF i much better.

Project - Foreign Esn / Meid Handset In Reliance
kshah replied to HetalDP's topic in Reliance Communications
I was just thinking why CDMA operators across the globe are reluctant to accept foreign handsets, I could figure out following reasons, may be I am wrong. As per my belief, reliance and tata too are subsidizing atleast entry level handsets to atleast 20-30% of nearest market rates of GSM handsets. They pay royalties to even Qualcomm. If so, why would they not accept foreign handsets? 1. THey may have legal or qualcomm restrictions. One may argue about TATA accepting foreign handsets. 2. In CDMA handset cloning is very easy. Infact, easiest. In GSM SIM Ver-2 is almost impossible to clone, where as in CDMA, I am sure, its very easy to clone handset. Thats why, perhaps reliance adopted RSN policy. So that cloning is difficult and Tata adopted unique MIN number as handset changes. 3. I do not agree with the arguement that it is not possible to program handset by operators, infact as per standards, operator can program every thing OVER THE AIR, only thing is they need to invest money and MORE IMPORTANTLY BRAIN. 4. May be they want to earn from RWORLD contents, hence they are tightly controlling foreign handsets. -
BIG NOOOOOOOOOOOO to this handset. If you have money to throw, give it to me, I will give you 6800 againt that money, if you are keen for WM only and if you realy value your money and if you value peace of mind, go for palm treo 755P, robust handset having even robust OS.

TD-SCDMA is technology promoted by China and china has big stake in it. Qualcomm is trying to stall their plans to deploy TD-SCDMA in china as standard technology. Anywahy, thanks for information. I feel very happy when some country other than US and Europe try to break monopoly.

Help Needed In Selecting A Handset For Accessing Email On Handset
kshah replied to metangp's topic in General Technical Discussion
I will say bb is good only if your business demand immediate receipt and immediate reply. If your priority is to check mail periodically than ppc and palm are two options. Using Imap you can keep laptop and handset synchronized. If you are looking at value for money palm is the best. Wm is contemporary and bb is expensive style. -
As you all know I shifted to GSM because of reliances decision of Rs. 1 / 10 KB. See how airtel charges twice for Mobile Office and AON. I have sent them mail, lets see what they do. Surprising policy of Airtel 1. If you activate MO (Unlimited for a month) it is calculated 30 days from date of activation. If you talk to CC before activation, they will say, even if you activate it for a day, you will be charged for a month. But in reality it is 30 days from date of activation 2. When you activate AON (Airtel On Line), you are delivered settings by SMS, where home page is http://live.airtelworld.com, now as per CC executive, if I enter from this page, then I am charged 20 pc / 30 KB. If I set some other home page then browsing of 3 MB per session is free. I have sent them mail saying if it is so, why you provide home page? I can set home page myself. Lets see, I am going to take them on task for these charges. Best part of Airtel is, you can view detailed bill including SMS, data, calls. This includes all activity.

Do We Need To Support A Monopolistic Technology Like Cdma?
kshah replied to metangp's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Happy to see reply from a person who knows about IPR. Nokia and qualcomm both have many patents and they do sell and charge royalties. China they charge less because chinese government is interested in their own technology known as TD-SCDMA. Chinese government was lamost on verge of declaring it as the only approved technology but I think international pressure prevented them from doing so. Chinese government has rejected Qualcomm petition for patent violation on TD-SCDMA out right and Qualcomm could not do any thing. They still sell technology to china at cheaper rate because they need chinese manufacturers. India is poor cow, which can be milked by any one. Anil Ambani tried but he did not had that impact because we Indians are not persistent and we are affraid that what if they withdraw support? Contrary to our behavour, fact is EU and US need us more that we need them. BTW apple uses Samsumg chip (most probably) and in GSM Qualcomm has many patents. But there they are not able to dectate terms because open standards of GSM. CDMA basic technology is patented. In GSM basic technology has no patents. -
Tata Blackberry Excellent Plan
kshah replied to P. K. Daga's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Ideally speaking, any plan with unlimited data in 2G or 1X is useless as one can either use data or can use voice. How many hours a day one can afford to keep voice busy if its main number and in taht case how much data once can use? -
Yes, as amit said, reliance cc has very little or no authority. I suggested reliance many times that they should empower. In Airtel cc girl on phone waived of rs. 198 saying it is falsely charged. in reliance its not possible even in ww. They too will make case and send email which will be replied in a day or two. Reliance should beware of Airtel. This type of speed I never expected. Frankly I was preparing myself for yet another number change.
