    Nope...I am trying to say the exact opposite, hopefully because of communities like this CDMA userbase will increase and more service providers come in. The law is applicable to Verizon & Sprint too - from where 90% of all CDMA handsets come, so it is relevant - this will increase the prices of CDMA devices which are available at good prices now - just expressing displeasure over that....

    Most CDMA players are shutting shop...and I am hating it, Tata is closing down, RCDMA - not profitable, MTS - dont know. We need more CDMA players in the market Tablets still attract 17% customs right ?

    @vijaymalhotra - Its not a question of whether I have a solution or not.....if you do things without understanding the process, you could end up with a bricked device. This is for your own good.... Eg: taking a update on a custom recovery, doing a flash without esn backup... - leads to a brick. Why go through the trouble of unbricking steps, when it can be completely avoided in the first place. Whats the harm in reading up a little ?

  7. One thing everybody is overlooking is that Galaxy S is no longer the flagship series of Samsung. Galaxy F series which is going to come in June/Aug is going to be the flagship from now on....it is expected to be the competitor to G3. Lets see what Samsung does with that... Official phones with warranty are a bit alien concept for me now ... havnt owned any in last couple of years... I only know Bad ESN How many phones have you run through in the last couple of years to say that

  12. US Version will have CDMA + GSM radio.... International will have only GSM... The only difference will be the radio bands.....compare them..

    Download the ZV8 radio (from xda autoprime post) flash radio first, then downgrade rom. Let me know if you cannot find the radio...will post link.

    @gauravjc make sure you downgrade the radio first before downgrading the rom...else you can end up with a brick.

    ^ When you root the phone using ioRoot method - two new files modemst1.img and modemst2.img are created on your sd card - these are your efs files.

    How How can you know whether an OTA update will or will not put the lock back ? Has this been tested via ZV8 unlock -> ZVA ? Please remember that OTA writes to the system partition - so for any major update like kitkat - the system partition will be re-written, which may or may not cause the changes you have made to be overwritten. OTAs are being pushed without user Yes/No option (search XDA and you will find the info). ZVA and above are found to be loki killers - so it would be safer to stay on a custom rom, know what the update is and that it is not going to kill anything and then take the update.

    The system folder remains untouched in a reset. Its basically the data and cache partitions that get wiped....ateast that is my understanding. @yaxbe - welcome to rimweb.

    @ People doing this.....before doing this please make sure your EFS is safely backed up. Because if you lose it during any flashing process - your phone will be rendered a useless brick with no way of going back.
