I was also of this thought, but made mistake yesterday. Upgraded to 4G SIM and lost my lifetime plan. It's now 2p/s and on RGSM. And I see a possibility of RCDMA continuing in Delhi. Why Reliance made a mess f situation.. just why. Do hell with them. Enough of Reliance. not even Jio. <annoyed>

Free Upgrade to RevB WiPod for existing NetConnect+ HSD RevA Customers in Delhi
mywebid replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Migrated my prepaid RCDMA netconnect+ dongle to 4G SIM with FRC. Disappointed to see no offer for 4G wiPod. Was shown the price as 2699 only. There are reports that some users are being shown the price as 899. Don't know on which basis does reliance is offering this to select customer. Are some prepaid customer also offered the 4G wipod at this price of 899? I didn't bought the 4G wipod at exorbitant price of 2699. No point. Don't know what will happen now once 4G network is live as I have registered a 4G SIM on my dongle number. Looks like my dongle would stop working and the 4G SIM would get active. Hope that I would be able to use this 4G SIM in mobile phone as I am in no mood to buy 4G wipod at any price above 799 -
We are screwed royally by RCDMA in name of upgrade to 4G. All our lifetime plans have been reset to 2p/sec on doing the 4G FRC recharge.. instantly even till the time old CDMA SIM is active. Did 4G migration today.. Lost my lifetime 50p call rate. What a scam RCDMA doing - totally unethical, pathetic. Would port out as soon as I exhaust my 2000+ prepaid balance. Enough of this. What's the point of being on worst network of RGSM with calling rate of 2p/s.
-
Wrong. All prepaid plans lost and the new plan reset to 2p/sec calling rate as soon as FRC is done. Even on old CDMA sim the plan has been reset. RCDMA has screwed us all.. and royally.

Does any RIM GURU has decoded the PRL in the 4G SIM? What are the home networks. Does it has MTS CDMA as Voice fallback network. Does it has JIO band 3 & 40 as home network? since RCOM only has 850 Mhz spectum for 4G, what would happen for people having handset that support only Band 3 or band 40, Would they latch to Jio for 4G or be on 3G only.

In their attempt to shift customers to 4G, they have created so much panic that people are porting to other carrier. now they are feeling the heat. but so far did not receive any such call in either Delhi or Kolkata number. so does it means that eventually CDMA services would continue but they only wanted to make people migrate to 4G (and RGSM) to test the deployment.
-
Is RCDMA really sutting down or is it a ploy by RCDMA to migrate customers to RGSM + 4G network and then eventually continue CDMA services by automatic (without MNP) fallback to MTS CDMA for customers who do not opt for 4G upgrade Does anyone has any concrete info on this.
-
Damn.. so much confusion around. And RCOM is purposefully making it more and more confusing. Guajrat is suppose to be in list of circles in 1st phase. so does it mean that RCDMA would continue in Delhi also. I am surprised to see that even RIM gurus in this forum have no concrete information as to what's the road ahead - would RCDMA 1x continue after 31 may in circles like Delhi, what about Evdo. Is 4G upgradation option for Delhi circle too. etc. etc. Too many question. Just hope some RIM guru here is able to get and hare concrete info. BTW, in Gujarat RCDMA has 6.25 Mhz of spectrum as oppose to 5 Mhz spectrum. Is this the reason they would continue there. The MTS spectrum is same in both circles at 3.75 MHZ Another question is there is absolute silence on MTS services till now. So would the MTS CDMA servers in Delhi etc. would continue like before after 31 may. Are they planning to have automatic (without MNP) fallback to MTS CDMA for customers who do not opt for 4G upgrade. Please someone share info ithey have any concrete info.

List of 4G Handsets that works for India - Band 3 & 40 (1800 Mhz & 2300 Mhz)
mywebid replied to Guru Gopal's topic in Other handsets
It doesn't support Band 5 (850 Mghz) -
Take upgraded 4g sim but dont do any frc Is this possible - Take 4G SIM but don't do a FRC. Do you think that the current tarrif plans would continue if we don't do a FRC? So much confusion around and no concrete info
-
I am also hoping that RCDMA would be kept alive on MTS spectrum. They are just creating a fear among subscribers (and lure of 4G data) to get people migrate and test 4G LTE for Jio. eventually they would keep the CDMA live.. at least for 2-3 years.
-
Top reasons to NOT to upgrade: 1.) Voice would be on RGSM 2.) .... ... . No we need any other reason?
-
Official lolipop to lure customers to RGSM The smoke screen of free data has done the trick. No one is thinking that they are being shifted to one of the worst GSM netwrk in India called RGSM.

Road forward for MTS prepaid/postpaid connections
mywebid posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Now that MTS has been acquired by RCOM, what's the road forward. Would the MTS voice/data plans be scrapped and RCOM plans enforced. If yes, any information when this would happen. Would the old MTS prepaid/postpaid plans would continue for extisting users or they would be replaced by RCOM's -
Road forward for MTS prepaid/postpaid connections
mywebid replied to mywebid's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
MTS data network quality has deteriorated badly in Delhi NCR from last 15 days. MTS data connection used to be so smooth unlike RCDMA which fluctuated. It is showing signs as if it is RCDMA network instead of MTS one. Looks like they have migrated the backend/software to RCDMA. -
Free Upgrade to RevB WiPod for existing NetConnect+ HSD RevA Customers in Delhi
mywebid replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Another hint that CDMA network in Delhi would continue on MTS spectrum. Reliance is just scaring its CDMA customers so that they migrate to 4G (read RGSM for voice) network. Thos who don't would latch to MTS network -
Complain at 198 or send a mail to customer care. 4G SM is supposedly free.
-
It looks to me that RCDMA would be upgraded to 4G and MTS (where available like Delhi) would be the new RCDMA 1x network. Now would they automatically make old RCDMA SIMS latch to MTS network or initiate a port out. That is to see. They are only scaring customers that CDMA would be closed so that customers themselves get onto 4G network which is actually RGSM network for voice. And we all know how RGSM is.
-
Balance and plan would be carried forward when you upgrade to 4G SIM

From past 2 months RCDMA 1x network at my place (Noida) - 56% no signal from past week RCDMA 1x network at my place (Noida) - 99% no signal Looks like tower has been shut or upgraded to LTE. Whatever it is, the handling of this by RCDMA is pathetic. They should have informed the customers about actual dates and situation. As usual they don't care. RIP RCDMA. Bye bye Reliance. No more Reliance (even Jio)

RCDMA Gurus.. please help all of us out of this confusion with your insights and insider info.. Hetal ji, Amit ji, Alok ji n others... 1.) In circles where RCDMA has MTS spectrum, would there be 1X going forward - [1x + EVDO + LTE] or [1x + LTE] or [LTE + 2G voice] 2.) What would happen in circles where RCDMA doesn't has MTS spectrum In a nutshell would RCDMA 1x (voice) continued for time being. If yes, which circles and till when (license expiry or 1-2 yrs till VoLTE stablizes etc.)
-
Any idea what would happen in circles where they have both - their own spectrum and MTS one , like Delhi, Would they deploy LTE on full combined spectrum or some part of spectrum in these circles would continue to be on CDMA till expiry of license in 2021. And if they are shutting down CDMA completely, what would happen to the the prepaid balance and the official handests purchased from webstores. They just cannot shut overnight leaving all the balance and handsets unusable.

Opening this thead for listing/discussion of OMH CDMA phones available in India. The list does not include the imported/programmed handsets sold in market, eBay or here on RIMweb, but the OMH handset available in off the shelf in market or online retailers like flipkart etc.

Finally, end of road for RCDMA... even for circles they wud continue for voice, it would get a second hand treatment. RIP RCMDA
