Else such is the level of RCMDA customer care that they would make you do everything from rebooting phone to removing SIM to factory resetting, but would never understand or care to find out or admit that there is an issue in network

Not related to RevB in strict sense, but as it is related to things being discussed here so let me ask one question from Gurus here only Is it possible to update PRL on already activated RUIM? If yes please tell the procedure Am asking as I have pretty old RUIM (activated 5 years ago). Being used only for voice. But somehow I now see the signals too weak and fluctuating in my area. It is practically not working condition. Am surprised how can RCDMA network like this for continuous 9-11 months now in my area which is pretty much in center of big town. So can it be due to old PRL on my SIM? Can updating PRL help if it is possible in first place (please don't give the solution to replace the SIM, I know of that option. I don't use RCDMA as my primary phone anymore so don't bother to spend Rs. 100 on SIM replacement. The RCDMA connection is just lying in case anyone with old number calls up and I can call back & give the new number)

Reliance are cheaters to core. They have introduced these plans only to bluff people and get subscriber numbers even if they are temp. All this Reliance Pro new dongle offers etc are just to improve their books before financial year closing. One should never fall into Reliance gimmicks.

Though it is said that with hybrid mode, the caller would not receive engage tone while data is ON, I have experienced many times that this does not works well. In hybrid mode 50% of times on RCDMA network, caller hears engage tone. With EVDO only of course the phone comes as unreachable and with 1x only it comes a busy. So Data on work phone is not really advisable. Also Reliance has history of freak balance deductions for data even when data pack is running. You have to keep a tab on balance and most of times it is a futile fight.

Is there any trick available now for availing the MCA for free? If yes please share the trick guys. Need it urgently. The Reliance CDMA network remains down for days (yes continuous 2-3 days every 10-15 days) at my location now And it is my primary number. Reliance is fully crap now.

As it is generally said that Li-ion battery's efficiency increase at lower temperatures, but what I observe is completely opposite. As soon as the winters get chilly in north India (10-15 C in rooms), the battery backup of my mobile phone goes down drastically. Just for comparison a phone which was giving 7 days of backup is now discharging in 2 days flat. Do others in North India also observing this? Do you think this is a battery phenomenon of less energy at 10-15 ambient temperatures. I am on CDMA network (Reliance). Is this specific to network (GSM or CDMA)? Or another thing that I can think of is may be that in severe winters the network signals power usually seem to go down so is this may be the cause of this battery drain rather than the battery itself.

I am observing this with all my phones whether smartphone or feature phone. And I am observing this from 2-3 seasons. Don't know if quality of batteries have gone down. Well the phone I talked of is smartphone used as non-smartphone (no mobile internet, no wifi). With very less usage (10 min daily average) it gives me 7 days of backup. It is 1.5 yrs old, but I remember it giving the same issue of less backup previous winters too when it was new. The battery backup improved with winters fading. I myself is perplexed by this observation so thought of asking if other also observe this. I think the battery being cold reports the remaining power incorrectly. For ex. I have 50% of battery and then as soon as phone call comes it slips instantly to 20% and 5 min of talks and it comes to 12%. Now if I reboot the phone it shows 35%. So it looks to me that probably battery reporting is at more fault; of course the battery performance also goes down.

Yes they say it is only for prepaid as of now, old customers would be migrated to this after 6 months but more importantly they say that they would be soon introducing separate VoIP packs. Airtel must be having something in mind as they do this. They are not naive to take take this big step. I have a hunch that Rjio wud not be as cheap as it was thought earlier. Rather it wud be as expensive as 3G. Airtel must have got this info and thats why they did this just a week before Jio launch.

Thnaks Sujit for info. 1.) Looks like MTS is switching 6+ months old connecitons to 20+20. No wonder they would eventually switch them to 12+12 after 6 months. 2.) The good speed you are getting in Delhi/NCR reaffirms that MTS is using several rules in a algorithm for determining the net speed given to user. I confirmed this today by using a MTS dongle of my friend at same location alog with mine. While I was getting speed of 700 kbps, he got 3-4 mbps. I had downloaded heavily using torrent 2 months befoe and also exceeded 40 GB limit. Looks they are giving me low speed so that I tone down my downloads and don't exceed 40GB limit. These unethical practices of MTS would not take them too far. They would soon collapse in India. If they are promising 40GB plan then they should give it with 'net neututrality' to all such subcribers without applying rules.
