RGSM people are killing themselves First they have worst network, over it they activate packs without user consent , and now this ringtone. They are not interested in improving the network, rather wasting time in all this.

RGSM is as horrible as before in NCR. 60% of the day one is not able to place calls. Call drop rate also is over 50%. don't go for RGSM.

I am using Reliance GSM 2 G in Delhi/Noida in 2G handset and the service just s**ks. It's pathetic. Even with full signal, most of the times I am unable to make calls . Even balance check using *367# does not work 95% of times . And they are cheaters - activate VAS packs without consent and deny to reverse charges. Don't know of 3G & data part of service. I am thinking of using MNP. Waited enough. They are hopeless. AVOID RELIANCE GSM FOR VOICE

I just got a new RIM GSM Prepaid connection (in Noida) mainly to use GPRS/EDGE by connecting my phone to PC (I use net very less for browsing purpose only). I have Nokia 6233 handset (GPRS/EDGE capable) and I am using Bluetooth to connect my phone to PC. I have subscribed to Rs. 98 GPRS pack for 30 day (2.5 GD data). I am able to connect to GPRS from my PC connected to phone. The problem I am facing is that the GPRS connection on phone is getting dropped at every 1 minute or so with error "Packet data connection closed by network". The same is happening when I browse on my phone using Wap. The connection is getting disconnected every 30 secs with same error and I am not able to download even 100 KB of file on phone or on PC The network at my place is good - bar fluctuating from 3-5 Is this due to crappy Reliance GSM network or is there some setting tweak which I can do so that GPRS packet connection is not dropped every 1 minute?

Is DOCOMO available in Noida?

Never go for Tikona... I have just disconnected it after trying for 2 months. Worst service and basically they are cheaters. Also they now charge for WiFi router. User complaints are unheard and the network is pathetic.

I bought LG 6200 set 1 month ago. I am facing signal reception issues with this set. The signal reception capability of the set is low. I have another Reliance connection with 5 year old LG 6150 set. If I keep both set nearby then clearly the 6200 set shows lower signal level than 6150. Though the signal in my area is weak nowadays, Call drops are more frequent while talking on this set as compared to 6150. This has lead me to think that this set has bad signal reception capability. Has any one having the same set facing similar issues? (Just confirming before taking the set to service center as I don't want the set to be un-necessarily opened)

I am in need to wireless roaming internet just to check mails occasionally. My current handset does not have phone modem (Reliance NetConnect compatible), so I was thinking to buying LG RD 6200 which has in-built modem with new prepaid connection. But on Reliance website at http://rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/internet/wireless_internet_phone.html nothing is mentioned about Prepaid plan for using Netconnect by CDMA modme phone. They only mention a monthly rental plan of Rs. 174. Can anybody confirm if we can access Netconnect from any prepaid CDMA modem phone without any activation or any other charges? Further what's the tariff; is it 60P at day & 30P at night without any rental? Does the same charge hold true while roaming also? (Just a side question - How is the speed of Netconnect. I mean is it fast enough to load webpages like new Yahoo mail interface easily and download 3-4 MB of data occasionally? Basically just need some connectivity to check mails/download presentation while roaming)

I am planning to take a new Reliance connection (aleady have Reliance CDMA connection). I am in NCR (Noida, Delhi) and sometimes go to west UP (Meerut, Aligarh etc.). How is the Reliance GSM network in these areas currently? I had been reading lot of bad reviews about Reliance GSM network, so I am confused if I should go for GSM or stick to tried & tested CDMA network. Anybody residing in these areas and having Reliance GSM connecton, please suggest. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for confirmation. I also believed that using Netconnect on CDMA prepaid compatible handset does not require any activation/monthly charges, but just have to pay per min charges. The page at http://rcom.co.in/Rcom/personal/internet/wireless_internet_phone.html confused me. Actually this page is missing the 'Prepaid' head and the charges shown are just for 'Postpaid'. Hope Reilance corrects this issue with new website.

What would we do with new sets when their plans s**ks big time!! Rs. 1.5/min for STD even after paying monthly rental. Days of FWP are gone as now they now have much expensive insane plans than mobiles unlike earlier when FWP used to have cheaper rates than mobiles.

I could not find the "Read new Posts since last visit" link when I login into RimWeb forums now. Earlier the link used to appear at top, then it was moved to bottom and now this seems to be removed altogether. Am I missing locating it or is it really removed? If it is the latter I request Admins to bring it back. It was a handy way to keep a tab on all new posts since your last visit to forums. Thanks.

Think I got a clue on again thinking back & examining the area of the link again On opening the site couple of days back, the profile dropdown was opening automatically; hiding the "View new Content" link and when I tried to close it, it was actually re-directing me to my detailed profile view. Phew !!!

Surprisingly, the link is now showing up when I opened up the site today - Same machine , same browser (I didn't even login again today, I have "Remember my password" checked).... Could not have missed such a clear link at top. Arun, have you made any changes?

Interestingly I am also not seeing the "View New content" when I login to forum. Request someone to post a screenshot. Dude, something really messy here!!

I have a 3 years old LG RD 6130 Handset. LG RD 6130 handset has a very common problem of loose charging slot. My set has also developed this problem from last 6 months. There is a considerable movement (up & down) after inserting the charging connector in the mobile slot, leading to loose contact and due to this the charging does not take place unless I wrap the wire around or do some other tricks. The problem is gradually increasing day by day. I went to LG workshop and they are asking about Rs. 200 + part cost (if required). Basically Rs. 180 is service charge. And if any part is also replaced there are separate charged. I don't want to take the risk of getting this handset opened (it is not opened till now) at LG center and spend minimum of Rs. 200 (might go higher.. can't rely what LG center guys say) on such a old set I want to know if anybody has experience with this kind of problem with this handset and if there is a way to solve it myself. (I was thinking of opening it myself ... , but need some advise from the experts here before going ahead) Thanks!

Vista still not ready for power use. Hopefully after service pack 1 it would be ready BTW using Vista from past 1.5 years (all internal MS builds). Vista is not polished as it should be. Many inconsistencies are there.

For the past couple of weeks, mst of the applications, especially new one, are not working on my LG 6130. The message I get is 'R World not Ready'. I have reset the RWorld menu many times. The clear memory option in More Services->Toolkit is also not working for me and it also shows 'RWorld not ready' Almost all the applications under 'Hot N New' like 'Krrish','Fanaa' etc. are not working. While some of the old application like 'Clear Memory' are also not working. Application like 'Cool Tunes' are working fine. I have contacted customer care many times, but the dumb customer care executives know nothing except asking to reset RWorld menu. Does any one is also facing the same issue with this particular. I suspect is it because the Reliance are launching new applications which are Brew compatible and does not work on non-Brew enabled handsets like LG 6130. Help me out to get RWorld again on my Handset!

Even I am getting these type of messages from about 2 months with usually 1-2 per week. I have never 'RUN' in fear of virus. Are you sure that these are from Reliance?

R-World is not working on LG 6130 from about 6 months without a software upgrade which is charged. The most annoying part is that LG service centre guys try to scare the customer seeking software upgradation by saying that the cost of mainboard would have to be beared by customer in case anything goes wrong during upgradation. They also say that R-World apps are down most of the times and it is not useful to upgrade phone software just for R-World. Shocking really.
