May be they change tariff to 2p/sec and 3p/sec slowly in the future. BTW they have already a cap for STD 1p/1sec now [sTD – First 27,000 seconds charged at 1 paisa per second in a month, beyond that 2 paisa per second in that month.]. As per the CC, for me 1p/sec is lifetime. No capping. I ask this everyday.After 23rd july..it will be 2p/sec - for the newer customers.

If there are too many activations to do - it may take long time. Contact the dealer from where you had taken the sim. Customer Care - I agree. I had called them regarding this. They said they are getting too many calls( more than their expectations) and hence we are not able to connect to the Customer Care. Hold on. Use the service and then make up your mind.

That is there for past 3-4 days. But the postpaid services are still not open to the consumers here in Kerala. Also no such plans for prepaid where majority of the customers are.. Somehow I feel tata plans to make money through VAS as their call rates are dead cheap. I tried I-Channel. Unfortunately my phone is not supported(nokia e71).

Please dont bring negativity to the positive discussion that is going on. Does it really matter whether he is tata employee or a reliance employee? Is it mentioned in the rule books that an employee of tata cannot be a member of this forum. Has Mr. Bhargava told anyone to buy tata docomo or contact him for a connection? He is just another enthusiast like we are! I love his spirit. You have to be one such person to understand his zeal. Hats off to him! If you have info related to the topic - share with us. We would really appreciate that.

Himanshu, I bet,the local rates were 1 and 2.40 respectively for local and STD when True paid was launched. May be you were in a costly tariff.

And the moment you cross that limit and your usage is higher (lets say Rs.200 more) - Tata scheme beats reliance.

Well ...2 things: 1. The network coverage at the launch is a different story as far as reliance and Tata is concerned. Think new. It's not Reliance CDMA Vs Tata Indicom. It's Reliance GSM Vs Tata DoCoMo. After buying reliance GSM -for past six months - I am yet to see their network indoors. 2. Default STD tariff is 1ps / sec (on a per second basis) - It's unmatched. 3. Let DoCoMo's i-Mode and other VAS come then might be this debate will be worth taking. May be I am biased - but that bias has been created by their services. I am using both.

For clarification But then why they mention minutes. Any way if they charge per second instead of minutes for add on too, then certainly mobile telephony should not be cheaper than this. What Daga ji is saying is true. As this is how I got their message on twitter. It's a ground breaking offer. Already here in Trivandrum , Tata DoCoMo is selling like hot cake.

Dear Mr. Ramesh, Glad to hear that! A friend of mine from Tamil Nadu is also reporting that the Network is stable. Very very stable network. Feels like the service was there since ages. Today will buy - 2 new sim for friends. By the way, when I had gone - all the numbers were really bad. Then looking at my disappointment - he took out another carton - full of good numbers. Dealers also play games.

One more reason might be - the operating frequency. I think TATA is operating using the 1800 Mhz frequency band.So the phones (earliar models) which does not support this frequency range - will not work( may be it uses 900 Mhz). But oops! 3310 can work with 900/1800.

Still a small confusion.. 1p/kb = 10p/10kb if u meant 1p/10kb in home and 10p/10kb in roaming then its far cheap than other networks. this is my 1111 th post It's the same as other operators. I had concerned regarding this. I gave a complaint. I was sent an SMS with complaint ID. After that I got a call from a landline - +91 40 .......(Hyderabad, I believe). Then the guy talked to me in Hindi ( addressing me Sir jee - it was so wierd). 1p/kb - like their per sec tariff, per kb tariff. Then I said I would need something better (as a feedback). He replied - just wait,it's just two days since the launch. They are working on other vouchers that would be much better than the existing operators. Let's see!

what is the cost? is it not 10p/10kb ?? Yes it is. It's 1p/kb. Outside home location - it's 10p/10kb. ( Assumption : you can use data while using some other GSM network during roaming) And hence I was surprised yesterday - using the airtelgprs APN it got connected to the google. I said costly as I have unlimited free (for Rs. 125/month). As per CC they are working on the new vouchers and very soon they will come up with great offerings. Let's see!

Here there was Euphoria listening about Tata Docomo's plans. Two of my friends want it tomoro. Till now - full network. No call drops. And even if there is a call drop( you wont feel bad because of per second billing ). One thing I also feel good is - it does not feel that I am using a new operator's service. The network is stable. Till now no inter connect issues. GPRS working fine. ( costly though). One bad thing - yesterday I had a bad time connecting to the CC. I think they already gathered many subscribers in the first few days of their launch, and they are not equipped to handle the traffic to their CC. Reliance GSM - Now I get Zero/one bar out of seven (LOL).

Well.. Just a piece of info - Tata Docomo considers Tata Indicom and Virgin Mobile as on net.

And access point is still - airtelgprs.com I am attaching a few unboxing pics below: It all started here when I saw this Ad in Kesavadasapuram- Then I went to kichoos,Plamoodu junction to get the sim.
