Today I went to local Tata store to port one of my RCDMA numbers to TI. Store person was willing to accept request, but said that July mid is their wind-up date. Confirmed same from multiple stores in Mumbai. Can anyone confirm this?

Yes?

@abhi.r Even if you connect to Reliance 2G, you won't get better speeds.
-
Can't connect in Mumbai to 4G. 2G/3G working as expected.
-
iPhone doesn't show networks separately.

You can port after swtiching to GSM also. Send appellate a mail saying that they shouldn't try to deny your request if you're worried.

Very true. Tata 2G is pretty good in Mumbai, 3G with CDMA like coverage will be a welcome addition.
-
850 MHz (Band 5) is the correct one.
-
@aalok Unfortunately all CDMA BTS have been shut in your area, as per feedback I've received. At some places in Lucknow CDMA signal can still be found. But, by and large, the network in UPE is in the process of being closed down.
-
@aalok Which area in Lucknow? I'll get it checked for you.

Vodafone roaming is only for subs from WB and NE.

XT 1526 (Boost) doesn't support Indian 3G bands, I'm pretty sure.

No, 3G ICR doesn't work in TATA states if Rcom sim is from same state even in RGSM. For ex: MH RGSM sim can't latch onto Tata 3G anywhere in India. However 3G ICR works in Aircel states perfectly. Also, 3G roaming works fine everywhere. My Mumbai RGSM number can connect to both Aircel and Tata 3G (and 2G too in some states) with data anywhere in India. XT 1526 doesn't support Indian 3G bands. Only 2G and 4G (on Band 5)

The end of affordable data

Data switching between H and H+ is a feature called fast dormancy, designed to save battery.

@nitink Go to any trusted retailer/distributor in your area, they'll get it done. Airtel, VF shop guys are only interested in postpaid subs, and use such excuses to avoid porting in prepaid subs.

Everything working fine in Mumbai too, EVDO also.

Just a tip. All cdma sites already had GSM equipment installed. Therefore, once CDMA shuts down, there is going to be no improvement in coverage. Reliance 3G is very fast, indoor coverage is the only problem.

Data works on Jio in circles with Band 5. For voice use JioJoin.

Tata CDMA won't shut in MH so soon. It has the largest coverage there.

@disney No longer on rcdma can't say. Got this just now, still. @basant.motlani Yes, was all set for 4G changeover: sim obtained, SMS sent, LTE97 recharge also done. Can't live with rgsm for voice, already my main number is on rgsm, and there is no 2G coverage at home. Surviving because of ICR with aircel and Tata.

I've can't find my 4G sim. Will post if I locate it. Edit Lol. My port out to Idea just got completed. Sorry folks, won't be able to test. My dongle which is also due for upgrade seems to be working fine, I'll put that sim in a phone and check if network is there. So, it's confirmed that upgrade to 4G has no effect on MNP process.

Mumbai circle.

I don't think anything will happen before May 30, that is when the cdma LTE migration FRC expires.
