Evdo Is Better Than Wcdma, Hsdpa
Karma_prisoner replied to HetalDP's topic in Technical / OS related
Well whichever it is EVDO or WCDMA or HSDPA We as consumer don't really care for the technology all we care is for good connectivity, speed and cost if we get wireless broadband up and running at affordable cost with good speed and nation wide grid that is enough let it it be EVDO, WCDMA, Wifi, WiMax or anything else Who cares as long as it works fine! -
Which is better in terms of Speed and Cost? Tata Plug2surf or the Reliance Netconnect Both of them provide Data Cards for laptops and USB modems (tata has more models) As i was wanting to know which is better of the two, i am currently using broadband and the wireless internet is like Dial-up so it is very slow, so out the 2 providers which is better in terms of SPEED, so that the pain of slow internet will be less Currently there have been heavy complaints that reliance net speeds have decreased significantly and i could not find any review or info on Tata If some is using Tata or have used both, pls update us on their performance and SPEED I was considering Tata as there is a small USB modem which is as big as a USB thumb drive Make is easy and convenient for mobility (data cards are ruled out as PCMCIA slots are missing in new laptops)

Karma_prisoner replied to Karma_prisoner's topic in Reliance Communications
yep thats true, there may be many who will be interested The data plan for phones really suk, but what the heck, something is better than nothing Do tell us the Cost, Compatibility, Make and other tech details -
WHEN will express cards for wireless internet be Launched NO service PROVIDERS are selling them Does anyone know or have information about the Launch of Express cards for Laptops (Be reliance or any other provider) In the past couple of months more or less all laptop manufactures have shifted to Express cards besides few stray model - which are mostly outdated or look not-so-great. BUT the sad part is there are NONE available by service provider and the USB modem things are kinda un-comfy as they juts out of the laptop - not happening at all HOPE these service provider go in sync with the manufacture otherwise it is a bummer and we consumes are the losers!

PROBLEM with single window for everything too many cases to handle by limited staff, therefore work will never happen or take ages to move forward Limited expertise and understanding by those few staffs (U cannot expect someone to know "all about everything") corruption will thrive even more as there will be only few people with immense power! There is never a "single" solution to a complex problem however to add here, Single window system for respective domain and fields is always welcome and adds lots of ease, efficiency and comfort for the general people & eventually helps in growth, of course not without its own problems.

Reliance What Next (wcdma Or Evdo)
Karma_prisoner replied to HetalDP's topic in Reliance Communications
WCDMA OR EV-DO WCDMA is a GSM based technology, so is HSDPA. so if reliance wants to opt for WCDMA technology nation-wide, first they should have a GSM network all over the country, as of now their GSM national plan is not take off due to spectrum issue (as far a my info goes) TRAI has asked reliance to surrender a part of their CDMA spectrum if they want to go for GSM So for now if there has to be a nation-wide 3G service from reliance it has to be on their CDMA network and EV-DO is the only way to go for now. -
Reliance To Launch 2.4 Mbps Internet On Evdo Network
Karma_prisoner replied to Karma_prisoner's topic in Reliance Communications
I don't think that they will be able to do that - they will not have a monopoly any longer as BSNL is planning to come with unlimited plan for Rs.250 both with 144 Kbps and EVDO's 2.4 Mbps and they will also provide the PCMCI modem on rental that is a kill! check these links out http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?show...amp;#entry88208 http://www.bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=370 http://www.chip-india.com/townsquare/viewt...63c0bcca1ede512 -
Reliance To Launch 2.4 Mbps Internet On Evdo Network
Karma_prisoner posted a topic in Reliance Communications
There are possibilities of a Reliance launching high speed internet using EVDO network which will give a speed of up to 2.4 Mbps the word is that reliance is testing this newly installed network and they would be launching the service very soon in few parts of the country, possibily by the the month of July 07 (but one never know - reliance can never be predicted) We could get speed of 2.4 Mbps and i think they would launch data cards for laptops and also USB modem with EVDO support (to compete with BSNL which too is all set to launch their wireless internet service soon) This will really help increase the speed of wireless internet in India, which is horrible currently Extracts from latest news .........Equally aggressive, but tight-lipped, about its foray into wireless is the Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications. According to industry sources, it will unveil its wireless plans in July. “The company will deploy CDMA EVDO network in Bangalore and Pune in first week of July and subsequently cover India starting from the South........ Hope this comes to be true As i will be standing in this line too (besides the BSNL one) waiting to get the high speed wireless internet -
Bsnl Offers Unlimited Internet On Cdma 2000 1x In Urban Areas Also.
Karma_prisoner replied to Dr.Gagan's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
BSNL to launch very affordable Internet service on CDMA network It can be accessed using a PCMCI card on your laptops The cost is suppose to be just Rs.250 for unlimited usage The best part is that BSNL will be launching EVDO which has the potential of giving up to 2.4 Mbps speed even if they are able to give us with speed with 75% efficiency of that it will be WOW However it will be limited to the Home city only and may not support Roaming Here roaming mean outside the city limits. i.e. it will work only in the city which you have taken the connection from. Here are links for more details BSNL official site with Rates http://www.bsnl.co.in/newsdetailed.php?news_id=370 Brief info from prospective customer http://www.chip-india.com/townsquare/viewt...63c0bcca1ede512 Enjoy speculating and Waiting i am in line to take this service whenever it is fully available for public
