I have never noticed the amber color. Besides, I am facing another probs with the travel charger. When you plug it in and switch it on, the mobile gets turned on(if it has been switched off. Also, the backlight remains switched on for the whole time it is being charged. To avoid this, I switch of the phone while its charging. Is this how this thing actually works?

Hi Guys!!! Anybody noticed that the handsfree set (headphones) of the color lg handset is more sophisticated than the one that comes with lg2030? Now, the million dollar question is 'Will that one work with lg2030?'..... I kind of remember noticing one guy with lg2030 using the other handsfree set... but, thats was on a bus and just a passing glance so, was unable to confirm. Now, I would like to purchase the other handsfree (available for 350/- - 400/- at the webworld...) but would like to know for sure whether it will work with my handset.. the guys at the web world do not seem to have any idea about this... Anybody else tried this out.?

Hi gtran_rocks, Yeah. That sure helps . But, the guys at reliance wworld told me its 855/- . Thats why I had to post this Q here. Becuase, a long time ago, when I had enquired about this in a wworld in Kerala, they had given me a price of 300 and somethiung. Now, last week, when I inquired about the price in Kolkata, they tell me its 855/-. Either these guys are out to make money even by cheating people or else they are absolute morons who should never be allowed to interface with customers.

These are really cool. But, the reason I was looking at the lgcolor handset headphone was because i could hang it around me neck and use the ear piece which is platformed on the neck tag. I am actually having a 2030... and use handsfree extensively.. the probs i face with that is i have carry around all the while and the wire is always a messy mesh on me... its so, messy that some of friends call me the 'wireman'....

Hey Arun, I registered on your forum.... But, I honestly have to tell you that the color scheme of the site helped a lot in driving me off the board in a few mins.... You have to do something about that buddy... Look around in the rimweb ... its so soothing to the eyes..... then again,its just a personal view of mine....

Ok... I do understand your point.. Static... This is what I propose.... If the mods/admins permit, I suggest we have a seperate category to discuss and improvise on the software utilities... 1. The creators will have to upload the souce code of the utilities as well. 2. All the technical guys will work together on improvising the utilities. 3. We shall have a proper versioning system. 4. We can invite other hard core techies interested in mobile related progamming to contribute (who may not be interested in other RIM discussions) 5. We can have a wishlist to which all members of the forum can post their ideas (however fantastic). What do you think? I understand that this will mean more responsbility and headache to the mods/admins. But, think about it, in course of time, we will be able learn, discover a lot more about mobile phones and their technology. Also, this will mean growth in the intellectual population in the forum. The forum cant go on for ever with morons like me asking long repeated questions now and then... We need someone to come up fresh and new challenges and answers... Who knows... one day this forum may even be accepted as an absolute authority on that side of the technology.... Like Flashkit.com turned out to be synonymous with macromdia flash. This is just a suggestion. Just food for thought for the mods/admins and the rest of the members. Sleep over it and then comment...

Code, You can get the ip of the reliance phone .... by using the phone to dial to the internet and while online.. go to command prompt and type 'ipconfig' you will get the ip of the phone.....

nil, I guess the bitpim cannot be used used to upload ringtones and wallpapers directly.... instead we will have to use directory structure for that... thats the case with lg2030.... but not sure with your handset.... guess one of the more techies would be able to help you out here...

are we going to see a election or what....??? Guys..!!! Keep politics out of this board please..... .... I suggest we leave moderation and administration stuff to the current team and concentrate on sharing info and gaining knowledge..... Now, when the job becomes too heavy for them they will pick some one from the mass and request him to share the workload.... then, if you fit into the criteria charted by the team.... then surely you will also be accepted as the authority.... but, i advice that for the time being, lets stick to what we came for to this forum in the first place..... Besides..Rakesh.... Its not an easy job.. Believe me.. It calls for attendance to the board eeryday.... You will have to take it as serious as taking up a part time job.... All this besides being an active contributor of information and acting as a mentor for the new comers.... Besides, rimweb is still very small....and can be easily managed by the current team...we have to grow much more..and probably sometime down the line we would be seeing new mods and admins coming in.... Nilesh I have mailed the software to you.... Bored.... Jayant had developed a CDMA_Detect software which will detect your cell and display the battery level etc....It was a good beginning.. But, It was dropped somewhere along the line.....
