Hello All, I have been tryin to create my first ringtone.... I chose the good bad and ugly tune.....now... the problem is when I try the record button in psmplayer and set size limit to 4096... I get message - size exeeded.... I have made the tune as short as possible using the crop functions... any idea.. on how we can reduce the size more...?

Hi, Is there any software that plays the DAT files... so, that we can hear it out before exporting it into the phone....? I tried searching the board.. but couldnt find mention of one anywhere..... Anybody ? Any idea? -Uday

Now thats an interesting piece of info.... I am using RConnect as well.. I have opted for DAPO.... I didnt know that there was any strings attached to the web access apart frm the 200 monthly and 40ps. per min. Are we talking about the same thing or am i just blabbering something totally unrelated.....

Suscess...!!!! Now.. i got it... I just reset the mode and clicked read all again.....now it worked... Thans ashok.... by the way can u explain to me why we need to do hyperterminal excerise... would like to understand the logic behind that... -Uday

Ashok, This is what I did.... 1. I opened Hyperterminal 2. Opened a new connection to com3 (thats where I have connected the phone) 3. Typed AT$QCDMA and pressed <enter> 4. Close Hyper Terminal 5. Opened uniCDMA selected the phone to LG 6. In setup, set port as com3 and baudrate at 115200 7. Pressed Monitor on 8. Pressed Read All. Nothing happened..... have missed something? I am using 'uniCDMA by 666'. -Uday

Hi All, Something I forgot to mention before. I am able to use bitPIM to access the filesystem. But, just the file system... nothing else seems to work in bitPIM for me... Also... PCSync software frm LG downloaded from reliance site is able to connect. when I click on sync button.... it connects to the phone and returns message that the phone is locked... So, What could probably be the problem? I am using uniCDMA which is not installed in the system. I got 2 files in a zip file. Which I unzipped and am trying to use.... I hope we do not have to install uniCDMA... should I? -Uday

Hello Emmi, I understand that its a bit like password hacking. But, on the other hand, for a guy in position the tips provided here in is very much helpful. I found my phone locked one fine morning and couldnt do anything about it. I really am hesitant to pay Rs. 160/- to the service centre to plug this phone into a machine and read the code out for me. Especially since I have already invested the amount to buy a data cable. Thats not service. Thats plain looting. Its like the auto driver charging a new comer just because he doesnt know the place well. Now... I am a new member to this group so have no idea, what this 'cloning' topic contained. I find it mentioned throughout the forum though. I assume that its about some hidden doors in the phone that makes it prone security issue. As you said, since cloning is banned. Discussions on these lines can be avoided as well. But, such a decision would put people like me who are stuck in a new place with a language problem not knowing how to reach the service centre etc. into a tough spot. Besides, my experience with reliance webworld service and the LG customer service is that both are pathetic [No offence to anyone ]. So, given a choice. I would very much like to avoid approaching the service centre. Regards.

Hello Everyone, Thanks for responding. I got the uniCDMA from sashijoseph. He mailed me the same. Code/Greens, I understand that the easiest way out of this would be to go to the nearest web world. But, I am also taking this oppurtunity as my first step into mobile programming. I am also curious to know more about what the software can do. Thats why, I really want to give it a shot. Arun, Thanx for the reply. I tried searching the forum for the download url. And I got this link - http://keralanadu.thefreeserver.com/Unicdma.rar . But, unfortunately, this is not working. Is the file not there in the server anymore? I also tried google but, not much luck there....
