I have successfully changed the Names of the ringtones contained in the header files: mhlsndh1 mhlsndh2 mhlsndh3 etc. Please make sure that you use a hex Editor and replace the old contents. It is important that the file size should remain unaltered. I think it is possible to change the startup/Shut down animations too. In RD 7130 already you can set the custom ringtone for startup/Shutdown. Now the only things to be known is the 1.format of the animations. 2.Where the info about the current animtion is stored. I am sure it must be at user level (within one of the files within the file system) Any tech experts .. Plz Another question - Has anyone tried adding additional ringtones (by default only 3 are allowed) and will that corrupt the file system ???

I think it is not possible to modify the original logo - but may be possible to link to another - in the file system- though - I don't think anyone knows it as of now :S

I think Vishal Already has a backup of his phone's file system. The main problem I guesss is getting time to acess and write to the File system before the phone reboots. Another wild idea is to attach another phone of same model and in bitpim open the File system and highlight the prl file. Now connect your phone (with bitpim still open) and start it. I think U may get a chance to write the file at some point of time (after you start up your phone and before it reboots) from the one you backed up. Of course the best way to go would be to visit another LG service center where people are more 'customer friendly'. Good Luck.

Even I face it on RD 7130. One thing about garbled sounds is the ring too will be so - esp with land line. So if the ring is not clear - immediately disconnect and reconnect. Hope that helps some ..

Yes - but I don't think any one will really wish to fool around with Police/Fire/Ambulance and unlikely to have a girl/boy friend over there If you are really concerned you can put invalid numbers say 1234 etc etc so that no one can dial. As for the charges I think - it is only a shortcut for fast dialing and normal call charges will be applicable.

My 2 cents - umm.. paise I think the issue is a mater of someone taking risk. I doubt any one running a forum/site on his server really can risk doing it and get into jail - who knows ?? What is more likely to be feasible is to have a unmoderated - free mailing list/e group(yahoo group etc) kinda thing and users of this forum may mail others offline who have the email ids public on this forum to join it (Not PMs etc). Since the group is hosted on a free server and is unmoderated - the risk of being tracked down is less (especially if one uses proxies to logon). Also they may not be so much after tracking down someone as far as no criminal kind of discussions occur. Downside is such a thing is likely to occur sooneer or later and then ... :S

I tried it on RD 7130 - says Low battery and most of the time closes down. All the feilds on the main dialog have question marks(no info is displayed)

One more thing I noticed is that if I uplaod a file grater than 2048 in size it refuses to play - while R- world downloaded files can be even 4-6 k without causing any trouble. Any one experienced this ? Also anyone wth latest s/w upgrade able to still access the full file system of their mobile (RD 7130)

I didn't understand . I think once you request deactivation - the process is finished in a matter of minutes, same holds true for re-activation. Thus if you end up using only 15 days - you will get a service charge of Rs 100. Do they charge for each De/Re Activation ? They didn't charge me any - may be some one who has done frequently can throw further light.
