Thanks for the suggestion especially about the reciepts

Yeah but U can deactivate it if U r not using it for a couple of days. I don't remember the number you need to dial - may be some one can help - or U have that #333 Helpline. The response takes minutes and U will not be charged on the days when it is deactivated.

coolkushi I don't think the upgrade costs anything (other than the time you have to give them the mobile to do it - hours to 2 days I guess). The dilemma I am facing is if I get worser bugs with the upgrade than existing ones

I think rajatng is right and U can even change them in 2030 although not in more "Advanced" models like 7130

Should be possible but haven't tried yet

Sorry - Don't consider me bumping and ban me I saw that R world is now providing India TV and also I saw that there are more option like moving pics etc in Messaging Menu - I can't access them Any one else with similar problems ?

MasterMind I guess there is a way of doing it without uniCDMA - the other software commonly used by this forum members - but I am unsure if it is OK with the forum rules about posting info on it. So THE ONLY WAY may be contacting the service center.

I had seen a LG model (dunno which ) recent one that has options to store 3 sms and 3 r-world ringtones ans he said he can recieve sms poly ringtones although he can't send them. Any one more info on that ? As far as the addresses which the phone acceses from R-world I couldn't open any from internet using R-Connect. Dunno where it redirects to or requires a security code

Just to add to the list of problems - most of which I am already facing External Display does not turn off sometimes for no apparent reason - Drains power. If there is no signal - then External and sometimes even internal display lights up. Apart from the routine Network Error - sometimes - In fact many a time - Two sms are sent (It's Ok as far as SMS are free though) Backlight constantly flickers at times - in Dark mode. Signal strength always lower compared 2030 and any other RIM handset. Rarely and randomly though - I recieve calls with info "Incomming Call" Nothing mentioned about calling number etc and these calls cannot be answered and only option is to press the End button. I see on the dispay - Rejecting Call.... - Phone gets locked - and keeps ringing relentlessly - Only option now is to remove the battery. I have once confirmed that the call was from a land line and the other party said that I recieved the call - after that they could hear nothing from me . This happens if a call arrives soon after diconnecting from R-Connect and Data cable still connected. If phone is not used for more than a day or two then soft keys need a double-click initially to function (may be a contact problem). Ringtones are too faint to be audible but for most silent surroundings. Voice clarity much inferior compared to 2030.

I had a similar problem - my mobile RD 7130 suddenly refusing to boot fro no apparent reason _ I never hacked the mobile then. I removed and replaced the battery and all was fine
-
I am using RD 7130 - noticed that the backlight remains on - if accidentally - the phone is closed - when R world is connected etc and also sometimes with no apparent reasons. In such a case all you need to do is to open and close the phone once - but - yes s/w upgrade is the defimnitive solution.

I am using bitpm 0.62 with RD 7120 and I see that the mhlsnd1 is different from the file name as specified in the header file and in th phone menu ( it will be actually third rather than first ) . Also I am having difficulty replacing the second ringtone - Can't play it - same file in first or third postion does fine - I think it has something to do with the way bitpm lists files - or is it RIM

Hi all This is my first post Is it that these files are locked by the mobile and it is unsafe to overwrite them ? Same question for ringtone headers ? Has some one tried modifying these names - Using a Hex Editor of course ? Also is it that only bitmaps are supported by LG RD 7130 ??
