You can use executable SMS to take to any link in R-World & beyond. I had even edited it to launch News/Ringtone & stuff like that. But be careful as these files have to be restored back with the older copy before a reboot of your phone else it may NEVER reboot again. Some of these - like call History take you to a temp link created which will be deleted once you access it (one time view). Anyway it is not of so much use to launch R-World applicatinons since these Executable SMS gets autodeleted after launching If U save the link from bitpim & add it to another Exec SMS and launch it U shud be able to view it again. Another option is to add the corresponding link to your R-World favorites (I have never tried doing the last one though).

Well most of these s/w can be set to ping at a minimum interwal of 30 sec - while with R-Connect we need to do it much more frequently - Once in 4-5 sec maximum. Else the h/s enters dormancy mode.

Accord - Dunno about bitpim on 6130 for ringtones/wallpapers (doesn't work for 5130) but U can use MMS to get custom ringtones/wallpapers. Custom game download to h/s wid reliance phones still remains a mystery.

I think these low end cameras are good for capturing landscape photographic pics. They perform decent outdoors & under good lighting conditions. Furthermore mostly they have a fixed focus of about 5 feet & no optical zoom. So if U try to capture something in the dark or something that is too near or contains too many details (News Print etc) then the performance will be very bad. They a NO substitute to even entry level dig camera if look at these things but rather a handy tool to snap in time when there is no alternative. You can try this tool Noiseware from http://www.imagenomic.com to reduce the noise from Ur photos if U R not good at photoshop. It does a decent job

Hmm..... Long time back I had asked LG Mobiles Developers to provide a global clipboard(Copy) option for all the text feilds atleast in their future handsets. I think they haven't yet considered it __ may be they consider it to be confusing for most users. It can be very useful in such a situtation as well as in R-World etc.

It's not avail in R-World. There are easier means to provide it it in R-world if at all (why shud they ever ) they wish. As for using wap - some one wid a bit knowledge in html/Javascript/wap can make a wap version out of it and host on a free wap host and access that page & send SMS U still have directory access on the SMS webpage and U can download off all the scripts etc if U want

Yes even that features seems to be working - but not very consistent _ may be under testing still. I tested one, dunno how much they are gonna charge me in my bill though Also U can download ringtones by sending SMS as Mayank said. Some of the tones in the list may not be available. All tests were done on my LG 5130. There are several issues like - the Executable SMS gets autodeleted... So due to poor signal/network issue if U lose connection after executing the SMS - then U need to send sms again to run the Ringtone applet. Also since we have access to bitpim on most phones we can get hold of the link and possibly execute it as a favorite item & get the ringtone from the R-World cache using bitpim rather than using the "Save" option which will be charged. This can be of some concern for the RIL ppl who reading it here now Another thing is ringtones which get into older phones accessible to bitpim are subject to risk though they have secured it sufficiently well in Newer phone like 2130/5130 etc

Yeah - it's gonna faster & more reliable with much smaller apps. But this also requires that the developers get a license from Qualcomm for each app(each item in fact) etc. Some ppl say everything involved in it is money money money...

I don't think Qualcomm has got anything to do there. And as Ganesh said 7130 supports 160 chars with wrap & "Carriage return" (pilcrow symbol) support too. It is simply (and sadly) that they are either allocating a lesser buffer or setting max_char limit to 160. On Gtran - it is possible (I am not entirely sure though) that it has got something to do with the EZWord rather than the costlier T9En autocomplete they used. But for 5130/6130 it is simply nonsense what they have done.

128 MB for XP is a bit low (U might consider adding up to make it 256) but first thing is to check the system for Viruses & spywares & defragementing once.

This problem is seen only with Mozilla/firebox I guess due to the way it handles tables - On IE it looks perfect. I have tried fixing it. Also Images and links have been edited for beachcomb skin. Let me know if it's showing correctly now

Try one more thing - 7130 users - Press END button repeatedly while on R-Connect - U will get a a "Incoming call" display and phone begins to ring.. Just press End twice quickly to end that GHOST call - else U will be forced to remove the battery This happens occasionally even without prssing END and more rarely with a real incoming voice call locking up the phone.

U need to create a SMAF file which contains the PCM wav file (? 8bit)*embedded in it. This can be done with the tools available from yamaha plus a voice recording software. Well charging the battery while using R-Connect shud prolong the battery life rather than shorten it - Especially with the desktop charger as it maintains a higher (indeed small) potential differene at the battery terminals than the max battery voltage. So practically all the power drained is from the charger rather than the battery - thereby less discharge/recharge cycles & longer life. The same thing may not hold true with travel chargers which have a lower amperage. The process is similar to that of a vehicle battery when the engine is running. Now lets forget all the theory. Practically - LG 7130 comes with a poor quality battery. My friends who used R-Connect without charging while using R-Connect has lost upto 4 batteries till date but me charging has not lost even one!.

deepu - One needs to make custom buttons. Making background transparent reduces the visibility of the buttons (blue against blue). May be we can install another good free skin if available rather than doing this.

Forum Logo and AdBanner have been added to the beachcomb skin. I have tested ion IE 6. Let me know if it works well on all browsers.
