I don't think reliance network supports SMS ringtones.
-
I think this is what niket was talking about?? If so this has been fixed now. So please recheck.

munnamobile to which part one need to apply oil ??? I don't think applying that to the jack pins atleast is advisable as it will result in improper electrical contact. I thought the problem cud be due to a loose contact occuring because of accumulation of dirt/plastic insulation particles in the phone's handsfree socket (which are produced by damage caused by repeated plugging/unplugging of the jack).

In 5130 the hidden folder is audio/midib where ringtones (default and custom are stored). Honestly there is no documentation of these things anywhere so I am not sure. What I believe is that only directories which have entries in $Userdirs file can be enumerated. There are may others that exist as U can see if U dump the memory. I don't know if these virtual dirs can be enumerated by adding the corresponding entry to that file or such a thing will corrupt the VFS. Now coming to your question vishal - I don't think LG wud have put editable slots for ringtones on FWP - unlike 5130. However in a brew related pdf I saw that there is support for even changing/Renaming default ringtones - Dunno what that exactly means as this doesn't seem tenable to me.

Yah! I also wonder why the banner problem is not sorted out? Pls mods or admin do something for it. 15067[/snapback] The banner has been now edited for the updated forum.

Did anyone notice that the service has dissapeared
-
They might have shifted the New Webmail to a diff location. I will analyze and try to find the link this week end.

Yeah as a last attempt before going to ASC(Authorized Service Center) U can remove the battery and short the terminals connectiong to battery on the phone (Mind it - Don't short the battery - as it will be damaged). Now restart ur phone - If still no avail then only ASC ppl can help.

One question to you. Can U save ringtones from a MMS recieved by you? If so then this Post will help you Sending Your Own Ringtones/wallpapers Thru R-world NB: I guess the ringtone must be in midi format for Nokia
-
AFAIK 5130 has the wallpaper/ringtones folder hidden. It is not shown by bitpim. So U can save the wallpaper and ringtone using MMS. You can send a E-mail to your phone with the ringtone & wallpaper of your choice and then save them from the MMS. For details see this post: Sending Your Own Ringtones/wallpapers Thru R-world You can find wallpapers and ringtones in this forum as well as other places on the net.

raccoon midi files should play fine and save fine on 2030 (I have sent several ppl and they have saved it fine). U have already made sure of the file size. But I guess U downloaded one of the .dat files (meant for uploading to 2030 using bitpim). It needs to be a uncompressed midi file.
-
I have seen CC going out of service for an hour or half. But most of the time it is fast.
-
2030 cable is different. U can use 7130/7230 data cable for it. These cables can be had either from webworls(costly) or third party. For PC sync U can use the LG SyncLite available for 2230 and rename the LGRD2130Connector.dll to LGRD5130Connector.dll. Phone book will work - but others may not work. Disclaimer: Try this info at your own risk.

Favorites is still there under the More->Tools Menu. For those who want to add it to their favorites - I can consider writing a software/tutorial when I am free - if someone decides to donate his favorites database file.
-
I have seen that 5130 is one of the "coolest" LG color handset from reliance. So heating to such an extent that it smells is definitely abnormal. Have you got your h/s laminated ?? If not then may be some prob with your battery - partially short internally etc. How is your battery life?? I think U need to contact a LG service center.
-
I had tried to see if the R-World midlets write the displayed to a temp cache file. I couldn't find any such and believe that it is loaded into memory like it happens on your desktop. If U find such a thing then .. even if a R-World service - like ringtine goes paid for download. U could simply save the content from this "cache file".
-
turbasu which h/s model are U using? I regularly use to upload to my phone book on LG 7130 and now did the same for 5130 too.
-
Looks like the server on which MMS is stored is down. May be they are doing something there.
-
Indeed that is intentional to save abttery and the display itself. Pressing any key will resume where U had left.
-
Those files are locked by the phone and can't be edited using bitpim. Changing the ESN is illegal. So we don't discuss that here on this forum. This topic will be closed soon.
-
I don't think the delay really maters(very small) but it can result in a significant increase the battery drain.

This post describes the currently known facts that help you to send a MMS to your own Reliance IndiaMobile phone supporting R-World/MMS as an e-mail with your favorite wallpaper/ringtone attached to it. Software required: 1.Reliance Mobile with R-World/MMS facility. 2.A photo editing software(E.g.: Photoshop will be used the description here). 3.A Midi/mmf Editor/player. (You can use PSM Player). Preperation: 1. Delete atleast one saved ringtone/wallpaper if U have already filled the space available on your phone by earlier downloads from R-World. This is needed because some phones like LG5130 & Gtran doesn't allow user to overwrite existing Ringtone/Wall paper. Creating the wallpaper and ringtone: Wallpaper: The requirements for wallpaper vary among different handset models. You can check the compatable size as follows: *Goto R-World --> Messaging --> MMS *Using MMS Send a E-mail to your own email address (simply type in your email address to send the mms to email). * Check the email from internet using your computer. * Download and save the wallpaper which has come as an email attchment. * Right click on the wallpaper file and View Properties --> Summary. * Note down the width and height of the pic. Ready reckoner for diff models: LG Handsets: LG RD 2030 - Image Size>120 X 65;Colour>2 bit grayscale;Format>Bitmap. LG RD 2130* - Image Size>120 X 65;Colour>4 bit grayscale;Format>Bitmap. (*Follow above specs strictly else it can damage phone!). LG RD 5130** - Image Size>128x97(centered);& 128x128(full screen) Colour>256; Format>Bitmap. (**Also supports any custom sizes upto 128x128) LG RD 6130 - Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me. LG RD 7130 - Image Size>120x128; Colour>256; Format>Bitmap. Samsung Handsets Samsung SCH 191 - Image Size>128x64; Colour>8bit RGB; Format>PNG 8bit non-interlaced. Samsung SCH A563 - Size Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me..Colour>256; Format>PNG/JPG. Samsung SCH A603 - Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me. GTRAN GTRAN GCP 4020 - Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me. Creating your own wallpaper: Select the photograph usually 24 bit color. Open with Adobe Photoshop® Edit it as per your taste. Resize the image to the requirement of your phone. (From Menu Goto Image --> Image size). Goto File Save As for Web --> Select PNG-8 as the Image format and Save it. Reopen the File and Now save it as a bitmap (or png for samsung sets) file. Further details about the final format are as already just noted above. Creating a Midi/mmf file for upload: Different handsets support different formats. Using a wrong format may cause the ringtone unplayable/Unsaveable. Ready reckoner for diff models: LG Handsets: LG RD 2030 - Format>midi Size> <4096 bytes and > 2kb LG RD 2130 - Format>midi Size> <4096 bytes and > 2kb LG RD 5130 - Format>midi Size> <4096 bytes and > 2kb LG RD 6130 - Format>midi Size> even upto 60 kb works(as per an user) and > 2kb LG RD 7130 - Format>midi/mmf(ma3/SMAF* 40chords); Max size>8kb & Min 2k LG RD 7230 - Format>midi/mmf(ma3/SMAF* 40chords); Max size Unknown & Min 2kb * = Although handset supports mmf the MMS network may not. Samsung Handsets Samsung SCH 191 - Format>mmf(ma2/SMAF 16chords-J-Sky);Max size Unknown. Samsung SCH A563 - Format>midi/mmf(ma3/SMAF 40chords);Max size Unknown. Samsung SCH A603 - Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me. GTRAN GTRAN GCP 4020 - Supports midi filesDetails Not known. Anyone who knows can PM me. Getting the ringtone file in the right format: Get a midi file either by searching this forum: Ringtones Upload/Download or else where from the net. Open it in PSMPlayer. If it is large reduce the size to the specs mentioned above for your handset. Save it as a midi/mmf file depending on the handset requirements. Example for Samsung 191 File>>>create smaf>>>smaf 16chords(j-sky). dat files available in this forum needs to be opened in PSM player and saved again as midi file even for midi format to remove the header - else they won't play. (simple renaming of .dat to .mid WONT WORK) Send the E-Mail as MMS to your phone. Setting up IstSMTP & Mail Client: Download & Install Ist SMTP Server. Start the Ist SMTP Server. You will see it running as a tray Icon near the system clock. Use your favorite E-Mail client like Outlook Express (taken in this Example) Goto Tools Menu ->Accounts to open the Accounts Dialog Box. From there Create a New Mail Account. In the adress field enter Ur mail address as <Your No>@rmms.ricmail.com In the next Screen. Specify any User Name U wish. Leave the password feild blank. Finish the Setup Dialog to complete the mail account setup. Sending E-Mail-MMS: Create a New mail in Outlook Express. Type the recipients address as <Your No>@rmms.ricmail.com e.g 089135800009@rmms.ricmail.com or 093123456@rmms.ricmail.com depending on whether new 93 series number has been alloted to you. Attach the Image file you just created. Attach the ringtone file you just edited. Send it. It has been reported that u can use almost any ISP for sending these E-mails. If it doesn't work try R-Connect which always works. Saving the wallpaper/ringtone to phone from MMS: Within minutes of sending you will recieve the MMS on your phone. Go to R-World open the MMS. Select the Options Menu and Set the wallpaper and Ringtone on your Phone. If U can't save a ringtone even though it plays well then; Delete an earlier saved tone and try. If you still can't save it check if the file size is too large or too small for your phone. ringtones >2k & < 4k mostly work on all models. You can download the detailed help file with screenshots for setting up IstSMTP HERE N.B: Some users have reported that the above setup works with most SMTP e-mail servers including Yahoo (put the Yahoo Server address instead of local host & also your Yahoo login & password). This however has not been tested much. Has anyone uploaded custom ringtones on 5130 ? Does the audio/midib directory show up on newer bitpim 0.7 - older version of bitpim(0.6) atleast doesn't.
-
Simply use bitpim and delete the system files I still believe RSN is related to ESN & MSN to MIN may be wrong though.
-
I don't think it wud be of any benefit at all ... unless U can register Ur same phone with two service providers. In that case U could switch between the two providers -- but still U can be on only one network at any point of time. I don't think we can discuss the technicalities of such a thing as it may not be legal either.
