R-World has started working today evening.

That feature supports text upto 65 chars. including whitespace chars. 15247[/snapback] It's sad that they reduced it unnecessarily. Earlier on it was virtually unlimited although T9En was working only till approx 200 chars.

I think the best option for U wud be a Reliance FWP. This set can be obtained for a Deposit of Rs 2500 and Installation charges of approx 800. R-Connect(internet) charges are also cheaper as compared to mobile. U can return the set once U want to return to Uk after 6 months. See reliance website for more details: Reliance FWP Installation should be simple as it is visible to your Mac system as a Hayes compatible 28 kbps modem. See this post for the details.

That's because legally they can't get to know the ESN from Reliance to write it. The only way they have is to put a new board and then RIM will activate using the new RSN etc. ESN is related to RSN but none of us know the exact mathematical relation.

c'mon guys - someone who still has it in their favorites.db please post the link or the file itself PS: Privacy Warning: The file contains the list of all favorites U stored.

Unlikely ... I don't think Gtran/Reliance need ever to get down to this to do sales . What I believe is that Gtran_rocks simply reduced participation when other users found the phone otherwise to avoid flames on him or he may be busy with something else ... American Gtan site is no more working but U can try their korean site. http://www.gtran.co.kr/newhome/english/e_main.asp U can send ur support question there and it amy get a higher priority. Long time back I had wrote a detailed mail to LG about the issues present on my LG 7130 and features that would make it more user friendly(call history<-->SMS link, Loading R-World) etc. They promised me that they will take care of all the things that were feasible within the phone architecture. Although a few bugs are fixed I am yet to see a newer version of 7130 s/w with these features but I am more than shocked to see that almost all of these features are implemented on 5130 in the exact details i requested ??????? May be purely coincidental . Another thing I can suggest to you is (at Ur own risk) to try all the available Gtran PST softwares available around. May be some of them have the option to set this orphan-widow control.

Yeah there are three contacts for charging (two correspond to +/- terminals of the batt and another ??for monitoring the charged status). If this third contact is: -Totally disconnected (improper mounting on charger, use of plastic covers interfering prper contact,dirt/oxide deposit on the terminal etc) -->The red light starts blinking. -There is relative high resistance (but not total disconnection). --> LED goes green even though battery is still not fully charged. Cleaning the contacts and ensuring a proper contact may be the only solution. BTW just to mention - Beware if U are carrying the set with a metal frame spectacle or key bunch in the same pocket. Apart from risk of scratch the battery terminals may short leading to short discharging of battery and it's attendant hazards.

True - If no one complains then they would never bother about & take customers for granted. Saurav wish U all the best in your efforts

Knowing Python is NOT necessary. You can use almost any programming language for windows that you are familiar with. I had developed a test app in a scripting language and "C". The only problem is knowing the exact BREW commands to be sent.

Illegal ILD Traffic - Infocomm penalty case
Code replied to city02's topic in Reliance Communications
Even me got similar one - I thought it was simply a CLIP bug -
Saurav While I am neither from reliance nor have anything against Gtran users this is my honest opinion. In simple terms although Java is platform independent the apps written using it may not be so due to diff specifictions of each h/s. Lets say a splash screen bitmap was designed for 7130 and is allowed to be displayed on 5130(smaller screen). If the mobile were to be a desktop the image would have been partially displayed - but on your mobile due to very limited memory/graphic resources it will simply crash the app. Similarly the way message boxes are displayed differ from model to model {some don't have the required API(5130) at all and programmer has to look for an alternative means (custom dialog) to inform the user of something)} Furthermore some software versions have a bug to make these non-modal although it should have been modal thereby allowing the code execution to continuel without awaiting user input causing undesirable actions/app crach (7130 seems to have one such bug). I haven't touched upon anything bout Gtran in my aboev example as I don't have one - but I guess the same scenario holds true. Finally if someone asks - "but 5130 already has midlets designed for it so fast??". Reason could be largeĀ® the number of sets they sold/planning to sell. Furthermore as far as R-World is free they may not have enough motivation to spend time on h/s which are in small numbers. (unless some one really forces them to do so)

They don't ask U any questions. Even if they ask - Your Answer is 1."I don't know why Ur phone is not working". If Ur unsure what to tell next .. Refer to Ans No 1

Hi Everybody There is a short time left before R-World might go paid (either in part or full). For our own benefit we can download all the wallpapers collectively. How to do it: ======== Goto R-World -> Messaging -> MMS : Click Send MMS -> 1.Send Greetings Select a Music Card and Send it to : mms@xasamail.com You can repeat the procedure to send as many cards as U can!! Notes: ==== 1. U can add mms@xasamail.com to Ur address book to avoid typing it each time. 2. Users of both B/W and color handsets can send so that we have the entire collection. 3. U can make a post here as to what all U mailed to reduce duplications. 4. U can do it whereever U r and whenever U r bored/free etc. Hurry up guys as we have a very short time left there if it goes paid next month!!! ... (I have already downloaded Actors,Actresses,Nature categories for color LG sets on 7130) Disclaimer & Privacy Information: The E-mails'n'MMS downloaded from this address will be analysed only for the attached pics and midis. The phone numbers and such personal info will be disposed of and will not be made public or sold to any third parties.

The mail id has been created exclusively for rimweb members for this purpose. Once we have a good collection we will download the mails and get the attachments, convert them to bitmaps and upload it categorywise for the benefit of everyone here

tanveer does 2230 not allow camera pics to be attched to mms ?

Static If U want to really work with those MIDlets U need to use a Java decompiler. U can try this free one: DJ Java Decompiler Select the option extract selected files only (but select all the files holding Ctrl Key). You can extract all the files including mainfest and then decompile the files one by one. From what I have seen these applets (e.g. MMS/Webmail) establish a http connection using a token string {?fixed one ?? based on the phone number(_rapmin,_rapsvc) as authentication}. So any one good at Java-networking can possibly write an desktop applet with user agent property set as any existing RIM phone model to establish a http connection to exchange data from R-World intranet or even the internet using the R-connect connection but with R-World user/passw. This applet can with proper interface allow browsing of any site for free (as far as R-World is free). There are a few glitches though __ each of these jar files appear to have some ?encrypted info attached to it or modified in some other way. Dunno if this is simply to prevent rev engg or as authenticity check. Either way I guess it shouldn't matter as far one needs to write a desktop applet but certainly will if Ur modified app has to work on mobile even after evading the checksum/expiry date stuff. Furthermore this post just gives a preliminary outline of what could be done. We still need answers for details of emulating the http authentication done by connection manager in the phone

That's intentional to make others know that a user has edited his post after a replay has already been made. E.g Else some one can post Nonsense and later delete it creating nuiscance ...
-
You can view the .png pictures using mspaint (WinME and above) or use some third party image editor like photoshop etc. The folder contains java midlets downloaded from R-World. You can't really do much to change these applets as a checksum for each is maintained encrypted somewhere in the filesystem and is checked each time before an app runs. If either the checksum is invalid or the expiry date has passed then a new version is downloaded thru a secure connection rather than loading the cached one. The only files that are possibly amenable to modification are the .db files which contain favorite and similar information. Any one good at Java can possibly throw more light on this.

Sorry niket I gave U wrong file name. The file is "f" under: data -> f-> my_fav-> f
-
Well Ur right it isn't really cloning but kinda related topic as Reliance doesn't allow programming of other h/s into their network. So this can't be possible legally as of now.
-
Yes even I had such a experience and was pretty confused. I think it is due to the probs they are facing from DAPO users
-
Great Work Arun The new ver is really nice.

Handsets may be locked to a given service provider. Further more we don't encourage the topic related to cloning here.

Can anyone of U please give the link from the favaorites.db file ?
