Hrithik, No, this problem is not yet solved with their new software version. Since I am not an SMS maniac i was not worried about this problem But i missed a very good joke sent by my friend as the climax was not there bcz of this damn piece of moon @#$@#.

Hi phonefreak, further to the email contact and the query here, you software version is now upgraded and mine is same now. I hope you have "reburned" R-world application after software upgrade. And your problem still presist, i recommend you to have a "complete board swap". This was advised to me by reliance when even after i had the same problem you have now after reburning r-world application. But after a day my problem sorted out itself and now R-world working quite fine. Pls make sure that your area have a adequate signal strength. never believe the signal strength shown on your handset. LG sets have a bad problem on this matter. it shows full signal where it is equal to nill most of the time. Try dialing some toll free numbers as *333 to find out the signal strength. if the voice is breaking it means there is not enough signal at your area. in that case your r world will also not work properly. I am using reliance phone for 1 1/2 years now and this is my second handset. LG handset performance is pathetic. Samsung is the best for long and rough use. But its diplay s**ks! so we are not suppose to be satisfied in all ways with reliance service.

Have any one used the service who was able to get a message from Email to your phone?? If so pls discuss the issue here. I was never able to receive Email to MMS. But MMS to email worked fine.

Hi Phonephreak, I had the same problem after upgrading the software on my RD2130. You may go to any LG service centre and ask them to "REBURN" R World Application. It will take approx. 45 minutes and after that you will not be having any problem with R World. Incase even after ruburning R World Application, visit them again and ask them to do a "Complete Board Swap". Fortunately I did not have to do that as after reburning R World Application my set is working fine. LG sets really s**ks!! But dont worry, users like me with your sorrows particularly with RD2130

Man, I could not find a any email gatway utility in their site under product and services! Mail online, Route, Delivers, Mailserver were there. Pls help!!

If U want to test then switch off the signal booster and check!! No, this signal booster is an external antena covered by a box fitted to my outer wall and a wire attached to the FWP phone (in place of tiny antena on the phone). And it does not have any on/off function.

Well Guys, I had a signal problem at my home both on my RIM sets and RIP LG FWP. Finally they installed a signal booster at my home for the FWP. amazingly the signal strenght got stable and it was working fine. Eversince the booster installed signal strength to my RIM handsets also improved much better. Does that make any sense? I dont think so. But it happened. May be they installed signal tower near to my place eventually. But anyhow now I can use the FWP n RIM hasle free at home. Signal boosters for FWP n RIM available in the market is not dependable. I request the affected users in remote area to request Reliance to provide signal Boosters for home.

Hi Rakma, I have seen pretty good explantions in detail about RD2130. Well I have been using this phone for a month now and it has messed me up very much. First I had to upgrade its software due to backlight problem. Then I had to reburn its RWorld Application. Now again I am in trouble with R World Applications. Now they ask me to do a Complete Board Swap. I think these processes are gonna be a routine with this tiny piece of LG. Moreoever, LG Service Centers are the worst service centers I ever seen. I have been using Samsung N191 earlier and whenever I went to the Samsung Service Centre, I had tremendous service experience. But LG Service Centre and its service are pathetic. Well if you consider a good display in B/W handsets available with Reliance, you are forced to go for LG. Otherwise you can opt for Samsung and considering the service and quality, I personally prefer Samsung than LG. The signal is NOT seemed to be stable on my phone. I am working in the largest Business complex of Delhi (Nehru Place) and on my 12th Floor office the signal fall to nill every now n then. But considering all aspects of service, I prefer Reliance as it has a overall good signal strenght compared to other GSM services in Delhi in particular. Good luck guys!

yes they charge even when your phone is in dormancy stage. It is just a technical feature that allows your phone to goes into "idle" mode when there is no data exchange. So it allows you to receive n make calls during the time you conencted to net. But reliance charges you for the internet usage even in dormancy stage, it will keep u charging unless you disconnect from the net fully.

MTNL & BSNL has prepaid calling cards and they can be used from any MTNL/BSNL phone in the country!!!!

Take your handset to the nearest Samsung Service centre and ask them to re-set your handset. However, you can try resetting your handset from setup menu. but i am not sure that it will help you. You may beed to reburn entire phone software by samsum go reset your phone. and in future dont use such codes as these handsets are pre-programed and pre-activated from reliance. any changes in the handset settings will affect your service. I truely never recommend anyone to do such stupid things unless you have got the backup system. be careful dudes!

HELP!!!!!!!!!! Dear Friends, I have recently upgraded my software of RD2130 and the present version of the sfotware is RD213F10. But ever since the upgradation some of the functions under R World quit working. Some of those are MMS, Greetings, Celar Memory etc. When selecting these options, it give a message R World Not Ready. At the same time all other functions working properly. When contacted Reliance Care, I have been told that the supporting version of Software for RD2130 is RD203F15 Now I am confused as I dont remember the orginal version of software I had as I did not note it down. LG Customer Care people dont have any idea what the software version they provided to Reliance to update their R World Protocol for RD2130. Does any one have any idea whats the solution????

Thank you Code, Second time when contacted they suggested me to do the same (re-burn rworld software). Code, you are right. The stupid customer care executive whom I contacted first time was wrong and fools like them not helping us but also misleading. Thank you all guys, I will get back to this issue after I re-burn r-world software from LG.

I also used the Reliance World Card. Services is good. Except as others mentioned here, cant use it on other phones!! Otherwise quality of service is good.

Guys, Why all you worried about Gmail, go for rediffmail it gives you 1gb space and moreover you can access your account thru R-World, in surf section type http://mobile.rediff.com. You can also access your yahoo.CO.UK emails via R-World->Webmail section which offers you 100MB space. I guess its time to foreget about Gmail.

I also having the same problem with RD2130, but not with handset only when I use handsfree (headset). Ppl tell me that your voice is coming as you in a hole! But when I use handset to talk, that prob never came up. Its true that if you reduce the ear volume while talking on handset, the echo prob can be solved upto a limit.

Further to Moderator Greens advice, users may download BMExtreme v2.31 or higher from www.bmextreme.com It will help you to track the usage. You can configure this software according to your plans Silver (100mb) or Gold (250mb). It will track and tell you exact usage. Good luck surfers!

Co-operation of all the affected Members who use RConnect on Silver/Gold Plan is solicited!!! It is the sole responsibility of Reliance to provide facility to its customers to track their data usage. It seems that the irresonsible Reliance is not much interested to solve the issue. They provide additional software/sms intimation / provision on their website to track the data usage so that the customer can control their usage. Moreover, it is the RIGHT of the consumer to know how much he consume and on what base the service provider going to charge them etc. So I request all the esteemed members to pusue this matter with Reliance to act soon on this issue. As a matter of fact if Reliance fails to act accordingly I personally plan to approach TRAI and other Consumer Protection Forum to seek their intervention in this matter. Members advise, and suggestions are requested to this Forum.

Hi guys, I have also upgraded the software for RD 2130 and now the back light problem is solved. Well, they took only 15 minutes to do the upgrade, though the total setup of LG service centre is not satisfactory. We will feel that we entered into a storage room. . Better if anyone planning to upgrade their software for LG handsets call their customer care serivce at 9622000001 and find the nearest service centre details and call the nearest service centre and take have a prior appointment, it will ease the time consumption. Tata for now guys.
