@Rajanmehta: I tried the coupons on both the items. The items are deals on ebay so the coupons dont apply on them. Also the remote is different for RC12 with the mouse pad. What deal do u think is better? which combo is better with RC 12? or the other remote? -

The deal is available on RC12 only. Also, RC11 is not as updated as it is older version. -
I am having a Netconnect+ datacard and now I have one more from my office. So, I dont want to pay for the postpaid connection that is my personal. I am thinking of going prepaid. This is simply because terminating the connection means the datacard is useless and cannot be activated again. Also, when required, a new card has to be purchased. I want to know - if I go prepaid and if I dont recharge for long time, can I still retain the active connection by recharging when required ? Also, can I opt for Rs. 94 recharge to get 1 GB allowance ? I want to recharge minimum.
-
do you mean - "all cdma datacards are not unlockable" ? I have Huawei EC1260. Some sites are saying that it has an RUIM slot. I dont have the dongle with me right now. I will check this at the earliest. If it has RUIM, can I just remove the ruim card and insert and OMH card ?
-
@inception, Do you mean one can install an RUIM slot in an data card ?
-
I dont have a prepaid CDMA connection. Still I checked on myservices but it is not showing any 94 Rs. plan.
-
@Hiren, It was really nice talking to you. Buying a new unlocked card is not a suitable solution for me. And the current datacard will not accept OMH sim (Or does it ?) So the solution for me is to switch to Prepaid and get it recharged for 200Rs./ 6 months. CC told me that if I get the datacard disconnected, it can be reactivated again and at that time the card will have a new number. However, they were not aware of the reconnection charges.
-
You are right. Asked the CC twice and this 94 plan is not available for datacard. Also Rcom is not showing that 94 rs. plan now - http://www.rcom.co.in/Rcom/rworld/HTML/MobileNet.html#an3 I will call you to understand the process in detail that you suggested.

From different websites it seems that P700 and s880 are cdma+gsm. Strangely, Lenovo's own website is silent on this. It simply says "dual sim". The best idea would be to check at the store after inserting both the sim. Not sure why Lenovo is not advertising this clearly when there is a ready market for such handsets Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2

^^^ Thats not very encouraging experience with smartbox. May be there are better smartbox in the market. But your experience is also pointing me to Samsung and not to Sony. Because I was planning not to use Sony's smartness, and add a smartbox to Sony to overcome the proprietary issues of accessories and also the freedom of App.

Yes Dhiraj, I know that sony cant play all file formats. But if I go for smartbox, that problem is resolved. You are also right on the picture quality. Last year when I compared the TVs to by for my parents at Ahmedabad, I liked Samsung more than Sony. But this time, my wife consistently liking sony at different stores. So yes, beauty lies in the eyes of beholder. But I am still open for both the models. And that is why I am soliciting the ideas here.

I am planning to buy a TV. One of my friend will bring it from Dubai. Currently I am confused between and Samsung UA40EH5330 and Sony KDL-40EX650 Sony is better in terms of picture quality. Basically white is almost near white in sony than any other TV. I compared these two models in Croma and Reliance Digital. My wife like sony more than samsung, just on picture picture quality. Both of them are smart TV. But the difference between the two are : Sony requires a wifi dongle and only Sony's UWA-BR100 can go with it. It is costing around Rs. 2700 on ebay. Keyboard and mouse also need to be sony's vaio. And they cost double than the other brands. The Apps are limited compared to Samsung and there is no developer community to develop the Apps. Compare to this Samsung has built in wifi and can support any brand's keyboard mouse. It has large number of Apps. And few people are saying that samsung is future proof tv in terms of software. Since we liked Sony more, I am contemplating the idea of buying sony and then not using its smart features (non-smart sony EX430 is available but it is inferior in the picture quality then EX630) and then buying a Android-Smart-Box. Experts, is this advisable ? what do you suggest ?

I want to order but they are not accepting even booking now. I ordered 3 A110s previously for family and friends. With their satisfaction, I m sure this would be much more satisfactory. Sent from my XT800 using Tapatalk 2

I have changed the perception. In last 1 year, I recommended Spice, Karbonn and Micromax to my family and friends and they actually bought them too. In all, I was able to influence them to buy 8 handsets last year. Believe me, they are happy. Here, it is not the company's reputation, but my own reputation at stake.
-
sorry to differ, It shouid be Indian Mobile Importers. For that matter all the phones in India are imported and almost all of them are effectively-made-in-China - Be it Samsung, IPhone, Micromax, Karbonn and many more... When I said Indian mobile makers, I didnt mean manufacturers, They are not cheap makers. Few of them are actually assembling those phones in India. The only difference between Indian brands and the global ones are where they assemble their products. For most of them the source is only one.
-
Now the Indian mobile makers have created a serious threat to global manufacturers. What Samsung did to Nokia, - days are not far that Samsung will be Samsunged by Micormax/Karbonn.
