so whats the big deal in letting him know how to convert cdma to gsm??? Anil Ambani has come up with screwed up schemes and many ppl want to shift. Atleast help this guy in switching his phone to GSM so that he can use it with some other service provider or sell it off at a higher price coz it would be a GSM phone.

6600 for 10-12k????? Shux. U get the GSM one for abt 8500 with bill and warranty. They are stupid to launch such old models. Don't understand what Anil is thinking. They should allow customers to source their handsets from wherever and WW guys should load the software onto the phones for a reasonable price. Make money through call charges... not through antique mobile sales.

Hey Mohsin, I did email the Chairman and recvd a response by email the same day. They also happened to call at my place on Saturday but i wasn't home. Today they called again and asked me which lady spoke such nonsense and stuff. They also gave me the tel. no of some ladt at the WW whom i should contact in order to upgrade my handset. She told me it could cost 4299 but she didn't speak of any free minutes or whatever. I will call the lady i am supp 2 meet and ask her the complete details. Btw the ladt who called me from CC took full details of what happened there and asked for a description of the lady at the counter. I couldn't remember clearly but when i go to meet the main lady at WW i shall point out which dame spoke that crap.

Just went to the Bandra WW to upgrade my cell to the 5340. Yest on *333 they quoted 3500 for a new phone but surprisingly today they quoted 4500 .. a 1000/- hike because of high demand for the phone. CHEAP BAS*****!!! The story doesn't end there. They had only pre programmed phones for new customers. Nothing for old customers who might just want to upgrade their handset or whose handset was spoilt and who urgently needed to change their phone. The lady tells me to go to an agent or the Santacruz WW to check if they had it. I asked her to call the Santacruz WW but she said that they didn't have their nos. CHEAP BAS***** again. I finally thanked her for the great service and came back without a phone. Am planning to buy a GSM prepaid with lifetime validity and forward all my calls on RIM to it. Will use it like that for 2.5 months after which my DAPO scheme expires. Then the RIM will go in the bin i guess. Had heard a lot about the poor customer service.. got to experience it first hand today. It sux!! Just enquired about the 180/- SMS top up card. It is only for prepaid users. NOTHING GOOD FOR POSTPAID.

i will buy this phone today. my motorola v730 display is spoilt. Instead of blowing 1000-1500 on partially repairing that i am gonna buy this phone.

what abt the sms capacity?? how many can be saved in the inbox?

cost 3500 in mumbai as told to me by cc on *333 can someone tell me abt this phones sms capacity. Is it still 30 sms in inbox, outbox, sent ?

got the list from *333. the help i need is that 1- if someone knows what schemes DAPO users will be entitled to once our scheme is over. coz if some good schemes have been announced then i'll buy a nokia cell under 10k. 2- If there is any better phone which is just abt 1000 bucks more expensive (in case schemes for DAPO users haven't been announced)

So am planning to buy the LG 5340. Not buying a more expensive phone coz i donno whether i will conmtinue after my DAPO scheme gets over. Any suggestions?

My front LCD stopped working within the first month. The phone hangs, deletes the phonebook when it pleases, doesn't work in cold areas, deletes the voice mails, messages, etc. I am gonna try and update the software version as suggested by some of you. Can someone provide details on the Rs 180 / 18,000 free SMS for 6 months scheme. I am on DAPO scheme. Was planning to give up RIM once it got over cause there would be no free messaging. But with schemes like the above bulk sms thing I am now motivated to stick on to RIM. Do u'll really think RIM is cheaper than other GSM service providers??
