I am a Delhi RIM Postpaid customer. There is only 1x since last 3 days in Mayur Vihar 1 area. And there is no text, pre-recorded message etc about anything. Besides that, in today's Patna newspaper 'Prabhat Khabar', it is mentioned that by June 7th, all CDMA customers of Bihar will necessarily be migrated from CDMA to existing Reliance 3G in Bihar. There is no 2G, as their license expired last December, so they have ICRA agreement. But 4G would be launched in September along with Jio, or a little prior to Jio. I think the same is going to happen across India. The real 4G would be launched around September only. Because once they free their CDMA spectrum fully, they will be testing, fine tuning etc and it will take them some time.

A lot of people aren't able to reach me, neither am I able to call a lot of people. Thinking of forwarding my calls to another number. Just wondering, if CDMA services are stopped, and 4G(GSM)activated, how will I cancel the forwards in that case? Any clue, anyone?

EVDO has vanished from Delhi since last noon! It came for a while in Okhla area in evening. But it has vanished. 1x is as well at its worse. Most of the calls are failing to go through.

This was just a ploy to hold onto customers. And you are right Anil Ambani is good for nothing, but in grabbing a trophy wife and turning into business where he can fail, or which he can fail! Reliance was the largest operator of Bihar circle. Undisputed KING of Bihar/Jharkhand in both CDMA and in GSM as Smart! One needs a special kind of talent to turn goldmines into coalmines!

CDMA network has gone from bad to worse. And I think a lot of people might have ported out, had they not announced 4G. Infact it created a reverse emotion of finding spare CDMA sim as well to latch on to 4G. And these idiots made the best of it by not announcing the final date, and grapevine putting up one date after another. Now it is 31st May

Message is definitely from MTNL DELHI. MTNL DELHI still has CDMA phone, besides the fact that MD in MD-359158 stands for MTNL Delhi. And they have their postpaid plans starting from Rs. 149/- Rs. 149 plan has free calls worth Rs. 149/- to MTNL, besides that all locals at 1/2paise per second, all std at 1p/s. SMS charges at 10p. Their data pack is as well very economical at 75/- unlimited, with the hitch that it is at 1x

What about Bihar? I am in roaming in Bihar, neither can I use CDMA for o/g i/c and there is no talk of 4g either. In entire Patna there might be a spot or two where you will get CDMA signals.
-
This is an issue in Bihar. CDMA network has vanished from most places, no 4G offing either! So they are digging their own grave. They had the highest and loyal customer base for more than a decade now. Sad for Reliance

Not all circles are getting this upgrade as of now. Only 9 telecom circles are getting this upgrade. Andhra Pradesh Maharashtra Mumbai Kolkatta Delhi UP West UP East Gujarat Madhya Pradesh

As previously mentioned, I reached Patna today. I had forwarded calls to my alternate Idea number at airport only. On reaching Patna, I saw 1x at airport, so disabled forward made a few calls. But as soon as I moved to other parts of city, network was non-existent. I forwarded all my calls again to idea as soon as I got one or two bars. I visited Reliance Mobile Store, near Saguna More, they had put up a board "No Query regarding Reliance network", that was funny! I entered the shop and told him that despite his board I would like to know the status as there is no network in my phone. He replied that he left franchise of RIM 2 months back. Then I went to Raza Bazar store. They have absolutely no clue, no idea about any tentative date, any SIM, any plan, anything at all. I was told they have no official communication except for the fact that no more CDMA to be sold. This is a classic example and case study of "How to ruin your business". Reliance RTL was the first to launch mobile telephony in the name of SMART in Bihar way back in 1990's. They had an excellent customer base of GSM and when they launched CDMA they almost gave every Bihari a mobile. Even today most of the people, businessman, contractor, student, labour etc everyone has the CDMA one and then SMART as another alternate number. They messed it by choice! People who give anything for such a loyal and vast customer base. Anil Ambani I guess cannot manage it well. There were so many customers at store asking about CDMA and no one knew a word about it! When their 2G network had gone, they had no proper communication to give except for the part that they asked everyone to port out!

I received 4G SIM by Bluedart! I had already got two SIM free of cost, one for prepaid and postpaid. One thing is clear 31st May onwards there will be no CDMA. I have my flight tomorrow, will forward all call to my alternate number as I am not sure if it will work in Bihar as there used to be 1x only in Bihar. But as per cc, services has been stopped over there. But 4G launch hasn't been done there either. Has anyone's SIM been activated? When will it get active?

I have to go out of station to Patna for 10 days. Will be going on 3rd. I was uncertain about CDMA services in Bihar. So I called up the customer care to ask if the my phone would work there. He confirmed that CDMA has been stopped in Bihar entirely and my phone won't work. So I asked him if my 4G SIM would work, which hasn't been activated till now! He was clueless, but said that it might. No what do I do? Since that is my primary number what do I do? I am clueless! Any suggestions?

From what I understood, Reliance Mobile 4G would run on LTE, and rely on 2G for calls. Jio will use VoLTE, IP based calls. So there is a little difference over there. However, for phones which Jio don't support, they have an application called "JIO Join" through which it phones not supporting VoLTE should also be able to make calls. Here is the official list of handsets which Jio supports, and doesn't require the app JIO JOIN. Sl. If you are planning to buy ASUS ZEN MAX, buy it from paytm.com with Reliance 4G offer. 12% cashback and 10 GB data, otherwise you would get 1 GB data

In Delhi, today onwards it should be available in all Reliance Mobile Stores, as the billing for all stores was done yesterday only. So most of them might have procured it. Yesterday, I took it from Reliance Mobile Store near Zakir Hussain College, it is a big store. If you cross the flyover from Lalit Hotel and 200 metres, from where the flyover ends it is on the left. But it should be available in all stores by today. Vikash Marg one near Laxmi Nagar, in Mayur Vihar 1 they had said it would be available by today. The beautiful lady at the Reliance Mobile Store, near Zakir Hussain College initially denied to give, but later on gave. She was curious herself like a child, and asked me to send messages from both numbers as she wanted to see what reply comes. I also heard from one of their employees But from whatever I gathered, plan would stay the same. 100% And activation wouldn't be before 3-4 more days. I believe they are waiting for spectrum merger approval from DoT/TRAI so that legally they can start operations. In 9 other circles they have got the approval. Meanwhile, CDMA network has further deteriorated in most of the areas. Tomorrow I am leaving for 10-15 days tour, I am not sure if I would be able to activate 4G then

Issue finally sorted out after software update by MI service center. -
After much hassle, I got two 4G sims today. They didn't even charge me for the SIM. For the prepaid SIM, I had to recharge it with Rs. 93. Which gave R-R free STD/Local and 150 minutes to others, 1Gb of internet. After sending the 4g SIM NO message to 1299, received a reply that will be updated.

I hope you'd have gone through the solution of syncing the phones time with Google servers and then trying again? This didn't work either! -
I visited Reliance Store today once again, I was told it would be available by tomorrow or day after.

I am a Delhi subscriber. I have a Reliance CDMA prepaid and a RCDMA postpaid. I have to go out of town for 20 days, will the sim be available in Bihar? Or can I get one through courier and get it activated there? I am travelling day after tomorrow.
