  1. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

RN3 user here. No extra settings. APN settings are not there. It seems automatic. Data is not working for me too.
  2. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Anil Bhai's birthday is on June 4th.. may be that's their internal deadline... keep watching... I don't know why ppl are in such a hurry to port out.. you've waited for so long already... just need to wait until 4g starts or till Jio launch.. till then buy another prepaid card for data and to test any other network you guys are planning to go to. It's 10 crore people they are trying to shift.. plus they don't have great resources. Airtel 4g subscribers is miniscule compared to that.. even with all their marketing spends..
  3. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

By the way, Anil Bhai's birthday is on June 4th. May be that's the internal deadline for 4g launch 😂
  4. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Those still with CDMA.. better to do a recharge for 4gb data. I think the data packs will be more expensive once we shift to GSM..
  5. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

Porting Karke kaha jaoge? That same data is going to cost you 700 to 800 at Vodafone and Airtel. Others don't have fallback on 3g... it's directly on 2g. And no one else has 800mhz spectrum... so capex will be higher and cost will also be higher... Jio jaoge? Not before September I think.
  6. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

There are several corporate customers of RCom will take them to court if the numbers are lost because of the switchover.. wont happen.. there will be a way to shift to 4G without so much pain..
  7. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

^^^ You dont need to port out. Your phone will be usable on new RCOM LTE network check this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_frequency_bands Band 5 is a subset of Band 26. Your phone operates on Band 26... you should be good. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SM-N910PZKESPR
  8. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

You will have to change the Sim card if CDMA network shuts down. CDMA uses RUIM which is not the same as a GSM Sim card. So you'll have to shift to GSM to continue your number, when CDMA shuts down ( no clarity on that yet frankly)
  9. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

If 4g network is low You can switch to 2g or 3g. Volte may have QoS since it's is a network feature carrying voice (unlike Skype). Volte uses IP protocol.. Which are essentially data packets. In 2g and 3g it's still data but connection is peer to peer like a traditional telephony. In IP each data packet has the destination address so it can travel with other data. Yes QoS is essential in such cases.
  10. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

According the a little desk research I did, nothing stops rcom from launching both LTE and cdma in band 5, infact after keeping 5mhz aside for LTE, rcom has more spectrum available to keep cdma or 2g services running in all circles on 800mhz band. It also has 2g/3g spectrum in other bands obviously.
  11. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE

RCOM and Jio have signed a spectrum sharing agreement because RCOM+MTS have the best 800mhz spectrum available (earlier limited to CDMA). They will be deploying LTE on this spectrum which will make it better than existing 2G and 3G networks. So it's a matter of time till LTE equipment is installed through out the country. JIO and rcom will be using the same network for 2g 3G and 4G. Till then you can always buy a Tata CDMA (since you already hhave the handset) or a prepaid GSM number on the 2nd slot for travelling.
  12. Reliance CDMA Network Upgrade To 4G LTE
