Huawei B310s 927 data card unlocked for all 4G networks
LTE4G replied to Guru Gopal's topic in Other handsets
Are you sure that it supports Band 5 ? If so I can also go for it. -
4G data will not work unless you recharge any 4G pack - although you may be latched to 4G network and Data connection also shows connected. 4G doesn't work with core balance deduction - if you change your network mode to 3G then your data will work using your core balance. Really weird!

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
LTE4G replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Either way Jio seems to provide benefit to Indian subscribers whether they use Jio or not - that too before commercial launch. -
You are absolutely right. I don't know who is planning such inconsistent packs.
-
Seems like they will also upgrade CDMA to 4G. So it will be 2G or 4G on their GSM Docomo. It is just my speculation if they go for 4G license in Mumbai because their evdo Photon is quite popular here.

How to use BSNL CDMA RUIM on imported CDMA phones
LTE4G replied to dr.faramroze's topic in Technical / OS related
Then what happened to the Garuda subscribers ? and when did they stopped ? Update: Yes saw the public notice dated 29th Feb 2016 at http://mtnlmumbai.in/images/stories/PDF_FILES/cdma_closure.pdf They also migrated their users to GSM (Dolphin/Trump). -
Great to hear that VoLTE might be implemented soon. Reliance 4G users just need 850MHz (Band 5) since we were using only 800MHz Band when we were on CDMA. So if VoLTE is implemented as expected it will become good network again. Only Reliance has to do something with the PRICING too.

Nice to hear that.

JIO SIM without LYF handset
LTE4G replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
JIO - Jay Ho! for validity. -
Seems Rcom sever is down.
-
AFAIK you should be at your base location - But you can visit Reliance web world and try to convince them (carry your ID & address proof too)
-
Immediately convert to prepaid (you can later covert back to postpaid anytime). You will have to just pay on pro-rata basis for the few days you have availed the services while clearing off the postpaid dues (but this should be near to your billing cycle i.e. beginning or end)
-
Yes ! they should upgrade to VoLTE to hold back CDMA users from porting out. VoLTE does not suffer from poor coverage but suffer from CHOKED inter-connectivity - deliberately created by other networks such as Vodafone, Airtel and Idea to create a bad image of JIO. (They are already feeling insecure) VoLTE is nothing but Voice Over LTE network - so if you get good LTE network, you will get good voice quality & connectivity too. But the inter connectivity between two operators depends upon the active channels between the two companies networks. So even if your call is routed to other network it depends on the receiver's network to either block it or connect further to the subscriber. It is true for vice versa also - so you hear "all lines in this route are busy". (Actually BLOCKED and busy for nothing). This happens with all new entrants in telecom when they launch.

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
LTE4G replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I am already aware of that and has been using Engineer Mode for tweaking. But it is not provided as a feature - the way you can select Network Mode, Theme, Screen light out etc. And if you are able to type and get into Engineer mode and think it is easy - beleive me there are people who dont even know how to select different Network Mode which is a default feature and rely on their younger ones for even changing wallpaper. -

LTE4G replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
That is what I also mentioned in my N.B. regrading Band selection tweak (Engineer Mode is for advance user) - but it is not provided as a feature which every layman can directly click and choose just like one can do network selection viz. GSM/WCDMA/LTE. -

LTE4G replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
AFAIK Band switching feature is not available in any smartphone yet. Band selection depends on signal strength and is done automatically by the handset software as per the encrypted reference code (Norms) present in the SIM. N.B. Specific band selection can be forced if some one can tweak and disable other bands in the handset. Don't know if any utility exists. -
I should admit that no matter what we say about Rcom, the 4G speed is quite satisfactory here in Mumbai. Yesterday I downloaded 2.6GB data in 49 minutes ONLY. Means my data was downloaded at the average speed of 927KB per second (actual speed was fluctuating between 850KB to 1MB per second) N.B. KB = kilobyte here and not kilobits (Kb). I am using Reliance 4G Data SIM in my mobile and using WiFi tethering to connect to PC. The mobile was kept indoors - inside the room on a table and signal was full. Though happy with the speed but not Happy with the price Reliance is asking. I get the similar speed on my Vodafone connection (Vodafone was costlier hence I used RCDMA for Data - But Now Vodafone has become cheaper as they have almost reduced their prices by 42% under offers on *121#.
-
Good question. Rcom has added advantage of 2G as well as 3G network. Only thing is that they should improve their service by providing better coverage. Which I believe they must be now concentrating on after closer of their CDMA Network. No doubt CDMA Network of Reliance was very good and cheaper too. So now they can offer cheaper data as 3G too. So the customer can choose either 4G/3G or 3G Only data option. Having extra 2G and 3G tower apart from the 4G will also save them for network congestion as the load of users will be distributed. Vodafone has quite good 2G as well as 3G coverage in Mumbai. Further the most important thing is that if they implement VoLTE then they will have an upper edge over JIO. At present Jio is on look out for new customers whereas Rcom already has enough subscribers which they can retain only if they take some serious and effective steps with regards to their 2G and 3G services.

Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
LTE4G replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Good News for preview SIM users. -
I did not buy WiPod and using the Data SIM in my mobile handset. My plan was to see if things are OK then I will buy the WiPod later - in fact any better UN-LOCKED more versatile (Means which has more LTE Bands as well as 3G Bands) WiPod which I can use with any Network. RNDIS is a Network protocol used over USB for USB Tethering. Read this from wikipedia: USB is a port which can be used for communication using different protocols for different works such as RNDIS is used for USB Tethering, Mass storage mode is used for connecting as Data Drive, USB Debugging for Firmware/Software installation or up-gradation, USB OTG (On-The-Go) to connect supporting devices such as pen Drive, Data Card, mouse etc, are few to name. It is also used for Charging.
