Reliance website RE-VAMPED !! Colours have changed - though colourful, Yellow is more prominent. Changing colours will not change things for Reliance - They should consider changing Plans & Pricing.

Will this imported CDMA phone work with RUIM of indian Operators?
LTE4G replied to abhijeetv2's topic in Technical / OS related
It supports following 4G bands: LTE band 2(1900), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 12(700), 17(700) Type *#*#4636#*#* in phone information select mode as GSM/LTE and check if it detects Rcom band 5. First confirm if Rcom network is available in your area using any other phone. -
It was Hutchison Max which was operating in Mumbai as 'MAX TOUCH' and on 14th Feb 2000 rebranded itself as ORANGE. Later worldwide rights of ORANGE brand was taken over by France Telecom and finally in India ORANGE became HUTCH in Jan 2006. And in Feb 2007 it became VODAFONE. BPL was competitor of MAX TOUCH and later became LOOP MOBILE in Mumbai.

JioLink Indoor WiFi CPE from Reliance Jio - Preview offer available
LTE4G replied to brijeshs's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Let's hope so though it is mere speculation. -
I couldn't find any Reliance 4G LTE subforum under 4G LTE Wireless Broadband to discuss about Reliance 4G DATA CARD. This subforum description says " Discussions related to the upcoming 4G LTE Wireless Broadband service, LIVE TV services from Reliance Jio Infocomm - Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited subsidiary, Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL) ".
-
Agree.
-
Who is the least unethical ? AFAIK I was just talking about the reliability (Network coverage) - that too in Mumbai circle ONLY.
-
They can't have any such agreement since TRAI will not allow. But yes ! if you are planning to switch then immediately you should port out to any other operator then you can switch to Jio after 90 days (i.e. by 15th November) - But if you continue with Reliance then you cannot port out after 16th August and lock in period would be till 30th November.
-
Even I had problem during migration from 12th May to approx. 14 July and now things seems settled after really horrified experience (After migration and activation suddenly my number got deactivated after few days - became unreachable - out of service etc. All kind of wierd things happened) My primary number is Vodafone, but it is really pathetic for people who were using CDMA as primary number.

I think 3G packs are not valid for 4G users as they are treating 3G data and 4G data pool separately.- 49 replies

Yes you can use the data for anything - I mean you can also use it for video if you want - but it is not necessary. They are providing video access FREE so that you will use their DATA services for watching video but it is not compulsory to watch video - you can use data for anything as TRAI has ordered that data services cannot be provided with selective services/partnership. Marketing Trick. I believe that Rcom can only slash prices once the services are commercially launched from both ends i.e. Rcom as well as Jio. Till then they need such tricks to somehow hold their customers.
-
Reliance 2G/3G really s**ks - I am hoping that soon Rcom will also be using VoLTE since the towers are capable of VoLTE, since the same network is providing service to Jio with VoLTE. (Reason why rcom has kept 3G data and 4G data pool separately)
-
Vodafone is most reliable network here in Mumbai - using since 2001 (ORANGE - HUTCH - VODAFONE).
-
But it is giving 1.5 + 1.5 + .25 = 3.25 GB data for 28 days for ₹275.00 only in other words. They cannot bound you to use it for any particular service as it will be violation of TRAI rules.

I have been using CDMA since 2003 continuously and was quite satisfied with the coverage locally and while roaming too. After upgrade now I find 4G signal also quite strong even indoors (in Mumbai - not yet used in roaming - but should be same if they are using the same CDMA towers & band for 4G) and though satisfied with the network coverage but still SHOCKED with the data pricing and don't know about my .50p lifetime plan - whether it will be same or not (Since after ₹97 recharge my plan changed to .02p/sec for 6 months - so, can only check after 6 months regarding my base plan.)

Service is OK but pricing is not OK.

Yes it will connect to 4G and even data will show connected BUT You will not get 4G. To get 4G you need to activate any 4G data plan separately - only then it will start. Till then enjoy 3G. Its really weird as Rcom is treating 3G and 4G as separate packs, where I am using Vodafone 3G/4G pack with any network mode - means either 2G/Edge/3G/H+/4G/LTE with the same 3G/4G data pack. But in case of Rcom I am able to use 3G/H+ and not 4G/LTE data in my prepaid phone. Further it is really funny as I can use 4G data in my Data card (Using in my handset) with 4G balance, but if I switch to 3G/H+ my core balance starts getting deducted instead of 4G data balance. Come on Reliance GROW UP !

JioLink Indoor WiFi CPE from Reliance Jio - Preview offer available
LTE4G replied to brijeshs's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
OK - you can't change the SIM, I understand. But what will happen after 3 months ? They will start billing ANY PLAN after that without your knowledge whether it suites you or not. Already Postpaid has been a dreadful experience for Reliance CDMA to 4G upgraded customers as far as Plan's are concerned. -

Three new data plans for Mumbai circle : 225MB for 7 Days for ₹78 375MB for 14 Days for ₹124 550MB for 21 Days for ₹191 What Reliance is up to ? - 4G Data with small packs ! - Will be exhausted within minutes. IMHO 4G is meant for Power Users so that they can save time while downloading BIG files and does not effect much for someone who needs internet for browsing, chatting and email etc..

At Last I am able to use free 4G data on my Data card SIM (Using in my Handset). Raised a complain through chat telling them that my migration request was made in May and the executive took the request and now 4G data is working. While checking through *111*1*3# it still shows "Your 2G Net bal is 0.00 MB (valid till 12-08-2016)..." SMS MBAL to 55333 fails as calls and SMS are barred by default as mentioned on Rcom website under FAQs. Any other method to check data balance using another phone ? Tried 18003000555 - Only core balance details are available.
