You are right as ₹459 is the best option for most of us (including me & my wife) but my father-in-law is using the JioPhone with ₹153 plan and seldom uses data (only for watching/listening news in JioTV when he is somewhere out). Most senior citizens use phone for calls and prefer paying monthly rather paying in advance for 3 months since data is not their concern or requirement. They are interested in free calls only which they are getting by paying ₹149. Let me put here that even ₹149 is too much for some who rarely make any calls and are using number for just communicating with rest of the family (mostly incoming) reason still most of the low ARPU users are on other networks as Jio is forcing users to opt for fixed validity recharges to use their services unlike others wherein one can load talk time and use it occasionally beyond 28 days without spending extra. In India people still process more than one Sim (minimum 2 sim) - so if someone was using more than 3 or 4 sims has to balance his monthly expenses towards keeping them active. After the advent of Jio now people are dumping extra Sims which are not important. Even old Jio sim is being discarded after porting the main number to Jio by some people. Jio is mainly good for data users as Volte still has some glitches which differ from handset to handset.

after jio airtel & idea offering unlimited calls in Roaming
LTE4G replied to vicky2089's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
The terms themselves reflect that they were drafted hastily. What do they mean by "(e.g. if a customer consumes 1000 mins on 2nd day , s/he would be charged for rest of the five days)"? They should have mentioned 4 days - because free calls limit is 250 minutes per day (beyond which the user will be charged 30p). So if someone uses in excess of 250 minutes a day and even after paying (@ 30p) for extra usage is deprived of using free benefits for the rest of the week because he simply crossed 1000 minutes limit is weird & absurd. Mentioning of consumption of 1000 minutes in 2 days refers to total consumption - because if the free limit is 250 minutes per day how can one consume 1000 (free) minutes in 2 days. This has been put into terms to confuse the user and later charge (loot) them if someone exceeds the limit. What about Airtel? Is there any similar limitations? -
You are right. But It may be good for those who are using ₹149 and don't want to be bothered about recharging every 28 days to get uninterrupted service. This can be for them who don't want to spend extra in advance and don't need much data & their primary requirement is voice calls only.

The option for Paytm & JioMoney is already there (JioMoney is launching payment bank too very soon). I personally prefer 'My Vouchers' option as I can buy & store vouchers when good offers are there and later use them on whichever connection & whenever I wish. I can transfer too if I want to anyone in the family. Jio has been introducing several features for its consumers & its importance or use differs from person to person. Though wallet linking option seems safe & nice. It is still not clear how will one get ₹600 Cashback if he chooses auto pay - may be some kind of discount per deduction will be there.

Yes they are extending the validity as it is in the news but still Jio's rules with the 'My Vouchers' option imho. This proves that Jio has become a trend setter. Unlimited Plans, queued recharges etc. -
JioFi - Not able to sent emails through Outlook
LTE4G replied to Dhiv's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
OK! Your issue is finally resolved. I knew that it was due to port but can you please confirm that you succeeded without disabling IP6. -
Here is some GOOD NEWS !!! Now you can watch Jio Cinema & Jio TV on your Desktop or Laptop using any browser. Jio has silently launched the web version of both the apps. Go to following links : Jio Cinema https://www.jiocinema.com/ Jio TV https://www.jiotv.com/ Details will be updated later. Updates: Login using your Jio ID to watch (I was able to login with email ID as well as Unique ID but Jio number & password combination didn't work). Jio Cinema has an additional option of login using Jio number with OTP. I was able to play HD stuff smoothly in Edge browser whereas it didn't play in my Firefox browser (may be because I have not installed Flash in my Firefox). Latest Update : for the time being Jio has disabled & put Under Construction page - wait for it to get removed then try. Will Update.

Yes ! but I included Jio Cinema as it has not been discussed earlier in the forum and may help others who are not yet aware. In fact Jio Cinema Link for desktop is available on Jio's website under apps but JioTV is yet to be put there.

UIDAI suspends Airtel, Airtel Payments Bank's e-KYC licence over Aadhaar misuse
LTE4G replied to LTE4G's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Yes you are absolutely right - in fact linking bank and linking subsidy should have been provisioned separately by UIDAI. It should be left to the consumer to decide in which bank he wants subsidy to get deposited irrespective of the number & chronological order of the Banks linking with UIDAI. This problem should be addressed as soon as possible since earlier we were suppose to link only the bank in which we want subsidy but unfortunately without giving enough time the government came up with the plan of linking all accounts with Aadhaar causing much confusion and dismay. -
May be this is the reason why porting to Airtel is taking more time. UIDAI has temporarily barred Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank from conducting Aadhaar-based SIM verification of mobile customers using eKYC process as well as e-KYC of payments bank clients. The action follows allegations of Bharti Airtel using the Aadhaar-eKYC based SIM verification process to open payments bank accounts of its subscribers without their 'informed consent'. UIDAI also took strong objection to allegations that such payments bank accounts are being linked to receive LPG subsidy. UIDAI, in an interim order, "suspended e-KYC licence key of Bharti Airtel Ltd and Airtel Payment Bank Ltd with immediate effect," sources with direct knowledge of the development. Airtel Payments Bank will not be able to open a new account with Aadhaar e-KYC. However, accounts can be opened through alternate methods, if available. Sources said that the first notice was issued to Airtel on September 18, responding to which Airtel and Airtel Bank stated that they have amended their process and the opening of a bank account is completely de- linked from the process of re-verification of mobile connection. These replies were found to be unsatisfactory by UIDAI, which issued another notice on November 24, as UIDAI kept receiving similar complaints from customers. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/uidai-suspends-airtel-airtel-payments-banks-e-kyc-licence-over-aadhaar-misuse/articleshow/62096832.cms https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/business/india-business/uidai-temporarily-bars-airtel-from-conducting-aadhaar-linked-e-kyc-verification/articleshow/62096727.cms

UIDAI suspends Airtel, Airtel Payments Bank's e-KYC licence over Aadhaar misuse
LTE4G replied to LTE4G's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Latest update : As much as Rs 167 crore was deposited by 31.21 lakh customers in their Airtel Payments Bank accounts which were activated without their "informed consent", leading to suspension of Aadhaar-linked KYC verification of Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank. https://m.timesofindia.com/business/india-business/rs-167cr-deposited-in-airtel-bank-without-consent-of-31l-users/amp_articleshow/62111310.cms -
Sorry! The latest ROM (version 8.5.7.0) is not supporting this (today I tried again and it is switching the primary Sim network as well, as pointed by you). I don't remember which ROM had this feature but it was working when I bought the phone and I lost my Vodafone balance because by mistake I enabled data on my second SIM while I was using Jio for calls. Update has ruined the feature. Even switching network mode using *#*#4636#*#* didn't help. Some kind of bug... I tried in lava X11 and it works but the second SIM supports only 2G (Edge).
-
I have tried in my Redmi Note 3 - Jio works in 4G VoLTE mode in Slot 1 (set to Primary) with 3G Data enabled on Vodafone Slot 2 (secondary sim). It also works vice versa - means if I swap slots then I have to set Slot 2 as Primary for Jio to work in 4G mode. (Presently I am using Jio SIM in Slot 2 & it is set to Primary because LTE is available for Primary SIM only) Same thing I have tried on my Lava X11 too but even after setting one slot to "LTE Only" the other slot only supports 2G data. I think the same settings can be used in some other models which support 3G on second slot when the primary slot is set to LTE.
-
Yes! This was being used for 3G data only (mostly). I had 2 important Reliance 4G connections (CDMA to LTE upgraded since Dapo offer) which I already ported to Jio & Airtel in the first week of November.
-
I am still getting 2G signal - calls working in Mumbai circle (using RGSM 3G Sim in 2G slot of my handset).
-

Unable to make/receive calls and send/receive SMS after activating International Roaming (IR) pack
LTE4G replied to varkey's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
SMS on what? Jio4GVoice, JioJoin or any other similar app - means software based messaging. -
AFAIK only one connection can be taken in a day from one operator using Aadhaar authentication. May be this is to provide protection to user and avoid dealer/operator from misusing your aadhaar authentication for any other sim simultaneously without your knowledge.

Unable to make/receive calls and send/receive SMS after activating International Roaming (IR) pack
LTE4G replied to varkey's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Confirmed SMS DOES NOT WORK when Volte is disabled. I tried sending as well as receiving sms sent from my other number with Volte switched off. Didn't work. -
I believe bills can still be paid online through rcom website as it lists the details when entering number (prepaid in my case - not tried any postpaid) even after receiving 'records deleted' message (seems records deleted is the deletion of the address associated with the number for connecting calls and not the account records). @nitink instead of paying through cheque you should have paid online through rcom website directly when the time is running out & situation is adverse.

My case was different as I converted my connections from Postpaid to prepaid anticipating for MNP in future, since prepaid porting never gets rejected usually. 1. Vodafone Postpaid to Prepaid -> cleared all my dues till date while the same same Sim got converted to Prepaid at midnight (restart was required). After one month received security vide cheque by post. 2. Rcom Postpaid to Prepaid -> cleared balance dues till date after deduction of security by paying cash & within few hours same handset (CDMA) got converted to Prepaid (a reboot was required for re-activation). Next month again received a final bill for ₹84/- which I paid immediately. Same process was followed for my other connections & Dongle too. 3. Tata Docomo Postpaid to Prepaid -> security was adjusted against my outstanding as on that day and balance was credited to my prepaid account (same sim) which got activated after midnight (restart was required).
