Hi all users of R-connect. In this thread we will share the screen shots of various rconnect users. Please run the stopwatch in DU meter or BW meter for atleast 30 minutes and show your screen shot. I will start with mine. This is my screen shot. In 30 minutes iam able to download 24 MB of data. Suggest me whether the speed is reasonable. Also provide any other speed tweeking techniques if you have.

R-connect's Maximum Speed - Screen Shots
Suresh_Neyveli replied to Suresh_Neyveli's topic in Data services
Hi friends, Ive been using reliance to browse the net long long ago. Ever since I got BroadBand from BSNL, reliance had become memories. After a couple of years Iam going through this thread (stared by me) and it is really amazing that i have downloaded at just 16KBPS. My current download speed using BSNL broadband is 256KBPS (2Mbps). Earlier with reliance I used to download at the max 60 MB per hour. But now.... with broadband, its more than 750 MB per hour. Anyway, at that time reliance was the speedest network i know. but now there is no improvement in speed. its still the same 16KBps. Better switch to BB. -

Even torrents works fine with reliance net connect. But since both upload and download takes place at the same time the download is slightly lower than normal download. But anyway, Its great. I really love this FAN plan. FAN -> Freedom At Night -

@racoon First of all r-connect is based on wireless CDMA technology. Not wired as in case of DataOne. I have the option to carry my connection anywhere immediately and instantly. You have not posted your screen shot. Moreover the max speed that reliance promises over a 2x CDMA network is 115 or 144 kbps, which i got. It is unfare and meaningless to compare a costly broadband connection with r-connect. -

Sorry Nirvana! I haven't updated my profile. LG 2530 dosen't have an inbuilt modem and cannot be used for r-connect. I get these speeds using my fwp LG-350R. More importantly i don't have a original cable. I bought the cable for Rs.250/- from a local computer shop. Hey at what speed u connect ur 350r?[115kbps or 230kbps]? 115 Kbps -

Hi Guys, How is the billing done in freedom @ night. Do they charge the monthly rental for voice apart from Rs.400/- Please someone explain me the plan in detail. I was charged Rs.400/-(internet charge) + Rs.290(voice). Is that right?

I too use F@N plan. My download speed varies around 14 to 17 KB/s after 11. I use this plan effectively and last month i have downloaded 10GB of data.

Here is another chance to show the speed of r-connect. Have a look at the screen shot. It shows the average download speed as 126 kbps (kilo bits per second) which is equal to the maximum speed of a dual channel ISDN connection (A dual channel ISDN connection is nothing but 64x2 = 128 kbps connection). Another important fact is the reliability of the connection. See the DU meter graph which shows the steadiness (evenness) of the connection. The DU meter graph is stretched so that it can show the bars for the last 12 minutes. -Suresh -

Mostly i used to download from rapidshare website only. megaupload provides only 300 free connections to india and so i never use megaupload. While downloading from rapidshare i used to get at an average speed of 9KBps to 10 KBps (using single thread only)
