Hi everyone As far as the signal strength goes i have no probs yet---- my job needs me go to the most rural areas where i get good network and havent lost any calls yet-------- even when i sit in the basement library the signal strength is good no probs---- at least much better than my old LG2030 I agree with ajit that it takes a really long time to send SMS and it asks too many questions which we cant disable and it also takes a hell lot of time to load the phonebook-------------these are the really irritating things about gtran---when compared with the convenience of Nokia phones If sending SMS is your main use of the phone then it is better not to buy this phone----- as far as the connectivity goes it is way better than GSM phones (even nokia) Regards Ananth

Hi Everyone My advice to anyone who has a reliance b/w phone is to upgrade quickly to the GTRAN without camera --- it really rocks and time is running out upgrade offer is valid only till july 31 2004!!! Regarding the queries by umesh well you can get the time date and day as well as the signal strength and the battery life --- you also get the caller/sms senders name as well as the initial data of the sms in scrolling format. well the main display appears great in brightness (medium) even without backlight but when held in bright sunlight the display is difficult to sight just as in other nokia colour phones--- it is not as good as the b/w phones which appear great in bright sunlight the hands free is complicated and it is really short --- i think it is better if you try the handsfree from other handsets (though i havent tried one yet) Not yet i have to get one yet It will last maximum for a day though it is the first few days i have been using the phone ---- and i have heavy r-world usage --- it lasts for a full day thats it even if you make 60 min calls well i dont have the camera but i pretty much can guess the clarity (only a measly 100k) ---- better not go for it ----- if you want camera go for LG/SAMSUNG

I had the LG2030 handset a few days back which showed ICICI bank but since then i have switched over to GTRAN -------------- in which there is no link of ICICI bank on r-world. But there is a link for HDFC bank. Guess reliance has not built the software for icici bank on GTRAN handset------- i might have to wait till then. Regards Ananth

One more thing about sms in GTRAN is that the name of the sender doesnt show up in the main screen (even if you enter the number as 0091**********) but the senders name is shown on the external LCD. How do i fix this problem ??? Regards Ananth PS : I seem to like the multiple reminders for sms--- others around you will think how popular you are receiving so many messages!!!

I got a GTRAN handset for my lg2030 today and really rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! I am fully satisfied with the handset and the screen clarity is unbeleivable as well as the downloaded ringtones sound great too. It is a bit too early to comment on the battery life since i am making maximum use of the phone on the first day. Thanks GTRAN_ROCKS for giving good suggestions. Regards Ananth

You should first register for the internet banking facility on www.icicibank.com and get an infinity account username and password later you can register for the phone banking facility. This is the procedure in case of savings bank account ; i think it must be the same in case of current account...

Where is this finance mobile banking on r-world and did it have icici bank on it since the past one month? If so i was not aware of it. I have seen HDFC bank on r-world before but not icici bank. Ananth

Well i guess what boreds brother is asking are genuine concerns----- but i guess we rim guys arent as lucky as the gsm users who use the older phones like Nokia 3310, 3315, 2100 where they have a composer and can forward ringtones. But using GTRAN has got other advantages -- you get the clearest/ high resolution screen (160*120 pixels) for the least cost as compared to nokia gsm where the same resolution will set you back by 20000 bucks. Also you get other advantages like rconnect and rworld which are really great features for wireless phones!!! And last but not the least you also get to download ringtones(polyphonic) and wallpapers for free!!!(gsm users have to shell out atleast 15 bucks for a really bad ringtone which they cannot preview) Regards Ananth

Yeah rworld is truly rocks !!!! Just hope that bank transactions on the mobile are secure and cannot be accesed by anyone else using the phone.

Hi Everyone How is the signal strength inside buildings and how is the call clarity of GTRAN and are there any call drops? I had a torrid time with Lg 2030 when at one moment there is full signal and at the next there is none!!! And when someone tries to call at the moment when there is no signal the phone comes as not reachable!! I just hope GTRAN doesnt have these probs for i am upgradin in a few days. Regards, Ananth

Gtran_Rocks, Thanks a lot!!! Its ok even if the phone gets heated up or the vibrator mode problems- i have made up my mind to upgrade my phone from lg2030 to gtran thanks to your great review of the phone. Regards, Ananth

I have a question for all those who own GTRAN - When you set the ringtone mode to Vibrate+Ring does the rintone play in sync with the vibrate mode (as in nokia) or does it vibrate alone first and then ring (ala Lg 2030)
