i have a GTRAN which a month or so old, i was able to save few ringtones from R World, so it is definitely not a permanent problem. But i would advise ypu to download midi files and use them as ringtones once ur installation problem is solved. There are some amazing and loud ringtones available and there is a post where one of the members has posted over 4000 midi files, The file is 27Mb size but has some excellent tones. My advice: install PC sync and download!

yes the charater length on my GTRAN is also 160. samsung sch191 had 140 though.

i agree with one of the members, i can not see the inbox of my MMS. when i log in, it says there are no new messages, but i cant see the old ones either. There is a thread on tech programming about MMS and the various things u can do with ur LG color handset, any options of doing the same with our GTRAN? anybody has details. I guess with a brilliant display, and excellent polyphonic support, MMS will be a wonderful application using this phone, provided we know all the possibilities and options. Most of the topics in tech programming are about LG phones only, be it the old B/W one or the newer ones.

Hi guys, when reliance was introducing its services and harping about R world, there was a mention of something called R Photos amongst other things, which mentioned that people will be able to upload and send their Photos to other RIM users ( if some of u have the very initial pamphlets, u might look up and find it there). was ther ever such a section in r menu or is it going to be added in the near future? I think it will be the same as true MMS isnt it?

I tried the same thing on my GTRAN and i got a message saying that this feature is nt available on my handset. so it is handset dependent

even we get to see very few such dial phones, isnt it. some of the antique types state of the art are still there. also some public phones are still of that type.

yup no complaint withthe network coverage, all my grudges are againstthe battery only, wish they could bring out a new version, i would love to buy it!

yes the problem seems to be with ur system. i ahve gtran and ihave xp prof. as my os, no problems at all, seldom takes more than 3-4 secs to connect

now here is a guy who is grossly unhappy with GTRAN, never mind dude, it did not work for u, as for me, i tooo have grudges against GTRAN but then, i had more grudges against Samaung 191. for the ringtone part i suggest u to download some real nice ones as midi files and use them as tones. i am using Summer of 69 at present and it is loud and clear! any help ask me, and of course our moderator is always there MITESH HELP HIM!

on the desktop charger the green light comes on after around 3 hours or so after completely discharging. havent been able to charge the battery fully even once with the travel charger. The battery signals keep moving and moving. and never does it display the message that the manual mentions

well they actually might come up with new better and cheaper phones. Besides, I guess a batter resolution camera with a GTRAn will be an excellent idea ( the camera is detachable in GTRAN). I ll surely go for a improved camera with this phone

Is there any way i can modify the WORD option of typing the message, I mean it does not have any flexibilty. There is a section on this forum that discussed ways to modify T9 dictionary for LG handset, is there any way of modifying the WORD dictionary for GTRAN?

my doubts echoed exactly. this is one thing that hurts another of course is the battery which does not last even a day. is it same with others or some specific problem with my phone. i keep the backlight on always off mode and still it lasts for a day only

On second thoughts the monthly rental of 200 for R connect might turn out to be cheaper for people who use net frequently compared to this crap

All GTRAN users, is there anyway we can switch off the message reminder thing without actually switching off the message ringer. I mean if i get a message, and i do not open the folder, there are periodic rings to remind me that i have to check the new message. Sometimes u are too busy or say because of any other reason u can not open the folder. If you switch off the ring or switch to the light mode u do not get to hear the meassage alert.

i observed the same thing Ananth. I dont know why this happens but yes you are bang on with your observation. Also i wish there were some way to always keep the text in word mode, it is irritating to switch again and again to the word mode.

might have been a blessing in disguise for u , but for me its a big headache. GTRAN rocks and others will have to work overtime to find ways to customize this phone.

and half the links of the indian site are down like the FAQ and the PC sync section. Hope someone comes up with a solution to this problem
