No it is not official sprint version. they are not going to release either. this is from cyanogenmod. its a rc1 so quite stable. Procedure is the same, root, nand backup, wipe and flash. Flash gapps after that.

They must be giving some discount of their own. Like cleartrip gives for air bookings.

I thought the battery on hero was best with Android 1.56 stock rom. Nothing has beaten that in my 3 month experience so far.
