Anyone knows how we can make the phone work with Reliance CDMA Sim Card. I bought a Virgin Mobile phone from Walmart USA and now came to India trying to make it work on CDMA. Though Virgin gave CDMA LTE network on USA but I unlocked bootloader and installed custom ROM to make it work on GSM network in Germany while I was on way to India and stayed in Germany for a week. All went well with same Moto E working with Lebara GSM in Germany and then after reaching India I inserted my Reliance CDMA card but still now able to make it work. I will put in points what all I have done so far Sprint has Boost & Virgin both with same ROM. So all mentioned ROM I installed was BOOST as no Stock ROM for virgin is available. Actually BOOST/VIRGIN both are same which I confirmed when I restarted phone and it showed the Virgin pop up software to activate phone. 1. I restored the Phone with Stock 5.1 (Surnia) ROM and inserted my old 2005 Reliance Simcard (manually cut) which showed network and did PRL Update, Profile Update, UICC unlock which went successful. Moto E 2nd Gen LTE manufactured after Feb 2015 have SIM lock which can be easily unlocked internationally when you on travel via UICC unlock method that allows you to use other SIM. Seems my phone is manufactured after that thus it showed all successful. 2. The only problem is when I dial any number the dialer flashes and nothing happens. It only allows *228 and the nice lady voice tell "My phone is already activated". I desperately want to see it working with phone calls. 3. I thought the problem is old 2005 SIM hence I bought new Reliance CDMA SIM (again manual cut as they din had Precut SIM). I again did *228 so this new SIM gets the Phone Number transferred as it was successful. It can also see the 3G symbol with exclamation on Network signal. I again tried the UICC, PRL & Profile Update but all failed with "Socket error" means no signal. 4. I thought latest Android 5.1 has issues hence I downloaded XT1526 Android 5.0.2 stock ROM from FILEFACTORY and tried but still the same dialer flash. 5. Some post suggested to get MSL code and unlock using the ##3282# -> EVDO -> DDTM to turn off which requires MSL/SPC code. I tried all possible ways on Internet and used MSL Reader, Installed SU and used Terminal Emulater to run "getprop ril.MSL" but all returned blank with no MSL code. This made me confirmed that no MSL is there in my phone and this phone is manufactured after Feb 2015 which has Domestic SIM Unlock policy and is open for international travelers. Can anyone suggest what I can do here to make Reliance CDMA network work with new Moto E 2nd Gen which I bought in Nov 2015. *#4636*#*# -> Phone Information -> Set Preferred Network Type -> Has All Frequencies available. In 2005 Sim it showed Network Type: 1xRTT In 2015 New Sim it shows Network Type: EvDO-rev.A Please provide me the way out.

I am based in Mumbai and looking for a CDMA+GSM Android 4x 3G handset for use with my Tata Indicom CDMA with around 4" screen. My budget is around 10K. I am unable to find a decent handset meeting the above specs. I did find a couple of handsets but they have some limitations: Micromax Canvas Blaze - Exclusive for use with MTS, hence not usable in Mumbai HTC Desire XC - very expensive (17-18K), looking for something pref. below 15K. As a last resort, I am planning to move to Reliance CDMA, purely because there is some choice of handsets available here, as well as deals by Rcom (which is hardly the case with Indicom). Any suggestions on options before me much appreciated.

In last one year or ever since 3g got easily available for comman man , I have used High speed interent over mobile of various networks for good duration. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea & Reliance GSM & CDMA. As far as speeds are concerend RGSM was the most surprising with often 7Mbps speeds but the network was very poor. I travel alot and it would get tricky in most places. Airtel & Vodafone would easily give me 4-5 Mbps any point of time and very decent coverage too. Idea with best gsm 3g plans in Raj circle at least but speeds would stretch max. to 2-3 Mbps at any given point of day or night. Now coming back to the topic of this thread our forums' most coveted reliance cdma evdo rev. A. I must say, baring apart the call quality and coverage, the speeds are mostly poor . At the max. it stretches to 500-700 Kbps at any point. Its cheaper by almost half than any other network with the popular 94 recharge. But is it really worth it? All the time consumed with such speeds. Does the cheaper call rate and call quality suffice for slow internet. Most of us here have spent our hard earned money invested to buy the most smart- smartphone but is it able actually do all the smart things without being backed by a strong internet. Have we already reached the point where advent of either EVDO Rev. B or 4G is imperative? Should we keep buying phones on our dear rcdma network with both handset and network supporting only Rev.A. With this thread I am hoping to discuss and share experiences, plus review the situation.

1X Data Not Keeping The Phone Engaged! I have noticed a strange (But happy) phenomenon occuring since the last few days on Reliance CDMA Network. Conventional wisdom says that your phone will always come engaged on CDMA network when 1X Data is On. However in the last 20 days or so, while i was travelling and 1X Data was on, i received calls without the calling person getting engaged tone. The calls were completed and upon finishing 1X Data resumed! Thought it to be a one off event but again it happenned today! What's going on? Has Reliance invented/implemented something which was thought to be technologically impossible in CDMA?

iPhone 4 CDMA Stops making/receiving calls for 4 - 5 hours every few days
ami1 posted a topic in iOS (Apple)
I am facing a really strange problem in iPhone 4 CDMA. Inspite of various efforts by me & Gaurav, we are unable to understand the source of this problem. Request Gurus to please enlighten. Details are given below:- On getting the phone from Gaurav I asked web world to transfer my number and after dialling *228 it started working for calls & sms. However, after 2 days i noticed that its not making or receiving calls. On dialing any number it instantly says disconnected and incoming callers hear "phone is switched off" message. It starts working after 4-5 hours or a day. Then it stops again after 2-3 days. Signal bar is full and its NOT an AKEY issue as even after entering the correct akey it doesn't start working. And even if i don't enter akey it will start working on its own after some time. Gaurav even changed the ROM to stock ROM (from earlier Chinese ROM) as suggested by Genius but the problem reappeared after 2 days. Its on iOS Version: 4.2.8 (8E401). Phone shows the following: PRL: 212 ERI: 5 MDN: 000 000 4660 Gaurav knows about the baseband etc issues and has ensured that baseband is not upgraded changing the ROM. Since it works sometimes, so we think it shouldn't be a MIN, PRL or Network related issue other wise it wouldn't work at all. It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem as phone's new & hw issue would probably be permanent or at least degrading quickly to a permanent problem. Couldn't find any one with similar problem on the internet even (except this 1 topic - but it doesn't have much details) Which leaves us with no other suspect for this problem. I am at my wits end waith this thing. Any advice resulting in fixing this will have a Sixpack of Kingfisher (or your favourite brand) being delivered to your doorstep. If you need to know any other technical details then either me or Gaurav will post it here. I think I have included everything. -
