rbdhoot 11 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 (edited) Hi !!! I need to get a new TV in my bedroom. Must be at least 19 inches. Can I use a LCD Monitor with TV-Tuner card ? What will be its advantages / disadvantages ? Can any one suggest a good LCD monitor & TV-Tuner Card for it? Thanks in advance. Honest 836 Report post Posted September 20, 2007 ^^^ My dear friend you can opt for Viewsonic 22" with Ipod dock. Its performance is really great. You will get it @ Rs.21,000/- approx. I'm using this monitor from the last 5 months and I purchased the same @ Rs.28,000/-. VIEWSONIC rocks. And you can opt for any Digital TV Tuner card from Pinnacle. I prefer the USB external card but I forget the model number. Regards.

commonman 228 Report post Posted September 21, 2007 Try the reverse. Samsung 21/25" LCD TV has the ports for using as a PC monitor also. No tuner needed. Full TV quality The PC need not be on when watching TV >> Saving in Power Costs around 25K.

Full TV quality The PC need not be on when watching TV >> Saving in Power Costs around 25K. The Non HDMI TV have Very Less Pixel Comparared to LCD Monitor So LCD Monitor with External Tunner seems only Best Option Or else go for HDMI Compatible TV which is Far Costly and Resolution is Some what 1300 x 768 Still less then Normal 19" Monitor We can have HDMI Output of PC by Installing HDMI Compatible PCi Express Graphics Card
rbdhoot 11 Report post Posted September 21, 2007 Thanks for reply. Actually I am budget conscious. Will be the picture clarity if I use a TV-Tuner with 19" Viewsonic LCD Monitor as compared to normal TV ???
Honest 836 Report post Posted September 25, 2007 ^^^ @rbdhoot My dear friend you will get the excellent picture quality on 19" Viewsonic LCD monitor. I'm using internal TV tuner card with my 22" Viewsonic LCD monitor and it gives good performance. The external usb tv tuners will be the best. You will get 3 years on-site warranty on Viewsonic Monitors. I searched a lot before I bought my LCD monitor and found that Viewsonic is the best. Regards.
