commonman 228 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 (edited) ^^^As i have already mentioned in my post #12 above, my handset was working in Delhi metro underground section, and I guess it is atleast 2 levels below ground level. Can anybody from Delhi confirm about network inside the metro? Well i am also getting network & able to talk clearly but thats when i am in Metro underground station in Calcutta I have used mobiles and pagers in calcutta since the start of services. I clearly remember that for quite some time no service was available in Metro underground stations. In fact many of the love-birds used to switch off their cells for those special times and then tell their boss that they were traveling in the metro. Then with much fan-fare, the GSM operators announced that they have installed the repeaters and other hardware to provide mobile facility in calcutta metro. Delhi metro been more than 20 years younger than the Calcutta version must have started with such hardware right from the beginning. So I guess its all with the provision of hardware. imvikky 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2007 I do agree that none of the services can provide good coverage at all the places.. but as compared to my airtel reliance surely has got good voice clarity.. only thing what I hate is the way strength falls down when you shift by a few feet or move indoors... I get good voice clarity on my reliance set outside my room even average download speeds of over 120 kbps (download only) but the moment I move inside my room(just one feet away) the phone is outside network so I have to maintain an Airtel connection so that ppl can reach me and call me outside...and half the time I am sitting in front of my house with my lappy in a chair to use internet.... My brother at delhi also faces similar problem...but with his airtel number. So it depends...not that one is better than other in absolute terms. But yes reliance is still to match the highway and railway coverage of gsm.
raccoon 53 Report post Posted September 27, 2007 As for signal intensity indoors.... in Poona, Airtel can be real bad indoors. Reliance on the other hand is good in that area. And so is Idea! Neither Reliance nor Idea have any problem indoors ...and u can usually carry on a good converstiaon even in most basements. Not so with Airtel. So I guess its not about whether GSM is better or CDMA ...both can be good depending on the network....

Arun 795 Report post Posted January 28, 2008 I travel in train from Trivandrum to Bangalore couple of times in a month and the connectivity is brilliant that I can stay connected to the internet on my laptop most of the time, especially throughout Kerala where I guess the second phase of network expansion is complete. Honest 836 Report post Posted January 28, 2008 ^^^ MY dear friends, for me Total Network of Reliance really works always. On very rare occasions I found that the network coverage of Reliance is not good. Most of the times the network is superb in almost every city I had ever visited including the highways. Regards. vijaykv 5 Report post Posted February 11, 2008 Hi, Today I reached Mumbai by travelling through Konkan Railway. As Arun said throughout Kerala the signal was ok. Although it was not great at many places. But once you enter into Karnataka, there was hardly any signal. I had to wait till Goa for signal. Again it went and in Maharashtra at very few places like Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Pen I got the signal again. Only after nearing Panvel regular strong signal I started getting. It was an agony to see so many towers of other service providers( most of the time 3 to 4) at regular intervals and continuous ringing of other mobiles in the compartment made me feel isolated and felt horrible the way Reliance mislead people putting this advertisement. People should sue them. Regards Vijay

I pity their planners, you can find idea, airtel, bsnl at most of the locations but no reliance.
rajeshkatiyar 3 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 Dear Friends they launched small kid towers of Huewai along with highways The towers have very less range so lot of road portions remaining uncovered. Reliance communication is combination of Anil ambani and chinese hardware, God save the Customers
kshah 452 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 I think in this discussion one fact is forgotten that when one is on GSM, they have access to about 3 service providers network, where as in CDMA and BSNL only one service providers. If reliance and tata join hands, I am sure they can give GSM operators run for money.

spknair 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 No Oxygen, No Water, No Land, No Light! Total Network ! Its right! They said only about network anyone tried to make calls from highrange (Hilly) areas? we can saw network barometer at full strength, but we couldn't make calls! sometimes we can receive calls and make SMSs Anybody know what is the reason for that? In my openion it may be due to reliance's SDCA based service anyhow reliance has least network in our state , now! (without forgetting most affordable and economical network)

vishalkumar 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2008 I agree. I recently travelled to Agra, Bharatpur & Mehndipur (hardly an hour distance). While the signal was good in Agra & to an extent to Bharatpur, it was virtually not present in mehndipur. Most of the time I had either "Searching for Network" or no lines. While, in the same area, Airtel was excellent.
