The new services will allow consumers connect with close ones in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and many more countries, for a fixed monthly subscription without even using a computer, the company claims. Subscribers will get a regular telephone with an international virtual number, which, if directly plugged into a DSL/Broadband Internet connection, will allow them to make unlimited international calls to the country of their choice. World Phone has introduced the following: Unlimited Plans to allow its customers enough choice in terms of budgets, and preferred call destinations. Connections will be able to be booked by logging onto World Phone's Web site at www.worldphone.in, or making calls to World Phone's Response Management Center on the toll free number 1800116633 from an MTNL/BSNL landline, or calling 011-26812040 from any landline across the country. The company plans to launch its services in Mumbai within a month, and then extend them to other major cities, including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, etc. World Phone claims its services will deal a body blow to illegal VoIP service providers in the country, who have been so far luring customers using price-based advantages, even as they compromise national security in the bargain.
