Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted June 19, 2004 In the desktop charger you get from Reliance by default, the power is cut when the phone is charged. ie. when u see a green light In case of travel chargers, most of the duplicate ones do not have this facility They just keep on charging until u unplug it, which is bad for the battery health
Greens 21 Report post Posted June 19, 2004 The moral is dont buy duplicate ones, else you will spoil your handet.
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted June 19, 2004 Hey, You can have duplicate ones which works properly.. Just choose the right ones.. Buying the ones from LG would cost you more than the local ones

Dhananajay 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 I have RD 7230 with travel charge (which comes free ) do u thing it also have auto cut ???
Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 "Autocut of power when charge is complete" is a feature that the charger should support... Almost all chargers you get with phone has this facility.. But some local ones which you buy maynot support this..
Mahidhar 3 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 if u got the travel charger with the kit reliance gave u, then it surely supports autocut ... once the light on the charger turns green, it stops charging ... although i've always wondered what the amber stands for ... the moment u switch on the unit ... it displays three colors - red, green and amber
MasterMind 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 I have never noticed the amber color. Besides, I am facing another probs with the travel charger. When you plug it in and switch it on, the mobile gets turned on(if it has been switched off. Also, the backlight remains switched on for the whole time it is being charged. To avoid this, I switch of the phone while its charging. Is this how this thing actually works?
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 hey mastermind Its a s/w problem. Go, LG service centre and update ur s/w. read this thread: http://www.rimweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=
Mahidhar 3 Report post Posted July 26, 2004 its better u get ur software updated ... anyways for the time being, first plug in the charger and switch it on ... then connect it to the phone after switching on the phone. when this is done, the backlight turns on ... all u have to do now is to press the END button once ... wait for 10 seconds and the backlight turns off ... but u have to do the whole thing in the order i've mentioned .. only then will the light go off ... but when u find time, get the software updated
MasterMind 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Mahidhar.....That really helped.... Hey, I read somehwre in this board that s/w upgradation will take away 'field test mode'...... can somebody tell, whats that? and if 'field test mode' is not there anymore, what we lose? Until, then its mahidhar's exercie that i will adopt..
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 Mastermind that was in case of "LG-RD2030" in older versions of it there was a field test mode in mobile u can enter in it by pressing <Menu>+0 but in newer versions it was removed so if one upgrade his older version of s/w that has "field test mode" to newer version then he will not be able to enter in field test mode thats it. in field test mode u can do many things, like changing NAM etc. i know a few what one can in field test mode of RD2030 because i never entered in it. Jacob 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I am not getting the field mode <menu>+0 even now.... So, I guess Its already gone in my phone.... .. I am using RD20315 - PRL: 1.....is that the latest? hahahah good that it doesnt go to field test mode man, i accidently rebuild my EPROM by field test and i had to take the phone to service centre and they had to wait 3 days to get the technical ifnormation from reliance to feed in the phone again So pls dont do test/programming even if you got the "codes" for it unless untill you have the complete technical backup! MasterMind 0 Report post Posted August 7, 2004 In this topic, we missed out Mahidhar's mention of Amber color. Now, I see the Amber color light blinking continously. Why does it happen? Also, what does that color stand for..? Any ideas? Any body?
raccoon 53 Report post Posted September 6, 2004 If I remember correctly, amber is used to signify a 'malfunction' in charging.
