Honest 836 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 ^^^ My dear friend although Reliance could be the best option. But if you want to go for GSM than Airtel or Vodafone is good. You can expect quality services and good network from Vodafone in the coming period. Regards.
soniraj 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 for the same reason i shifted to GSM. To me only respectable hadset available was 6275. however with same features i got 3110c at half rate. I converted to MTNL. It has a good coverage. They dont cheat. it is the cheapest among GSM. I get BSNL when I travel, that gives me Pan India coverage. added benefit of GSM, if the instrument is spoilt you can transfer your SIM to any instrument till the time you buy another whereas in RIM if the handset is not working you have to go to webworld to transfer the no to another instrument, which leads to panic buying as your no stops working !!!!!! hi,seeing the sheer number of sets available for GSM, i am thinking to change from Reliance to Gsm. and i should travel to all over india.. KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 ^^^ you are absolutely correct in your interpretation of the CDMA scenario. CDMA players should give some discounts etc to people who have lost their handsets and yet wish to remain with them. But this they will never do.

kshah 452 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 If you do not have data requirement and ready to sacrifice bit of voice quality, then GSM is better. And my experience is that BSNL is the best for voice, again at little cost of quality of voice.
KumaarShah 143 Report post Posted October 17, 2007 @ bal1961, Since you want to move to move to GSM and you also want data access, I would suggest you to take up Airtel. They will give you good network coverage plus data access plus good roaming rates also. If you take up a CUG plan with them, you will also get very good SMS packages. Of course as regards billing problems and voice clarity, I do not have much idea. You may browse this forum for various topics on these issues. All private GSM operators follow Airtel for tariff revisions. They are the market leaders. All others follow suit. Vodafone, Chennai/TN do not have good network and they also have costly GPRS. BSNL / Aircel has severe congestion problems always. Under these circumstances, Airtel is better.

They are master in copying others. And the Vodafone is the biggest COPYCAT apart from others. AIRTEL is the KING. Atleast they dare to reduce tariffs and create some competition in the market.
