Utsav 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2004 Hi all, I have seen many users complaining about the RD2030 handset for not displaying the name of the Caller during a call or not displaying the name while receiving SMS from a sender I have got a solution for the same. It may seem to be so clumsy but yet it is pretty simple. Trust me ***********For displaying the name for SMS*************** If you have a friend with mobile number 9831234567 please modify the entry in his/her name in your address book. Go to the General tab and re-enter his mobile number preceded by "0091" ***********For displaying the name for Call*************** If you have a friend with mobile number 9831234567 please modify the entry in his/her name in your address book. Go to the Mobile tab and re-enter his mobile number preceded by "0" If you have a friend with Landline number 23456789 and with an STD area code of "033"please modify the entry in his/her name in your address book. Go to the Home tab and re-enter his phone number preceded by "033" If you need further clarifications regarding this, please do reply to this topic in this forum. Chirag 5 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Yeh basically we have to store the no. in various formats such tht the name pops up when the call or sms comes. Like wid my TATA frenz, I've to store their no. in Local Format (9223xxxxxx) for SMS and National Format (09223xxxxxxxx) for incoming Calls! But all this is reqd only for LG2030 ... Maybe saving a no. jus in Local Format wud do for 2130 n samsung handsets.
Mahidhar 3 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Maybe saving a no. jus in Local Format wud do for 2130 n samsung handsets. saving it with the 098 format is more than enough for the 2130 as i mentioned ... it works perfectly
Code 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 but not for 7130 although the suggestion fo saving number in two formats helps

Chirag 5 Report post Posted June 29, 2004 I have been following a certain order of saving phone nos. on my phone for the last 1 yr, and never had any trouble ever. Rarely wud the name be not displayed. In the Mobile field i save the no. as 098XXX XXXXX In the Fax Field I save the same as 009198XXX XXXXX And i set the Mobile field as the default No. This helps me for incoming calls and Incoming SMS. Moreover helps me, to dial the same nos. during roaming as well. Certain times, the no. might be displayed as 98XXX XXXXX or 09198XXX XXXXX but tht happens quite rarely!
