phil 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2007 Hi, Forgive my ignorance but... to use Reliance network, we can only choose the cards shown on the Reliance website or we can buy one card in the USA and use it in India with Reliance ? I saw somewhere the word "activation"... what is this process actually ? Thanks -marc-
Nirvana 4 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 Thats right, you can select from the available data cards only. If you buy one from USA and want to use it with Reliance, then you will need to program it by yourself, though it is out of scope of being discussed here as it (clonning) is considered illegal. Activation process is required to make the data card active/register with a number which belongs to you.
commonman 228 Report post Posted November 6, 2007 It is possible to use data cards supporting UIM. You would be required to take a connection on a UIM based handset. The no. is linked to the UIM. So that UIM can be used with the data card. Don't think any legal issue would be involved in this method.
