sudeepnair 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2007 Hi, I am trying to use a ZTE Data card (installed on COM9) on my IBM T43 laptop. I am able to connect to the internet. However, the speed is abysmally low. In fact its so bad that I can't even access my mails (gmail, yahoo etc.). Netbooster is also installed and shows signs of activity. When I try to run the modem diagnostics query, I get a message stating that the modem cannot be queried. I would like to know whether this is the normal behavior of all CDMA cards. I got the slot in my laptop checked and ensured there's no problem with it. Also, the Reliance signal is quite strong in my neighbourhood in Bangalore. Earlier I have been using a data cable with my reliance phone without any problem. In fact, I tried making and receiving calls using the data card and there's absolutely no problem with that. The voice clarity is also quite good. Needless to say, Reliance tech support could not give me any worthwhile suggestion. Their conclusion is that the card is working fine. Can somebody please help? Thanks in advance, Sudeep

Hi Arun, Yes. The status is the same irrespective of the time of the day. Most of the time the speed shown is less than 1 KBps. Once I have seen it go up to 7KBps, but it lasted for less than 5 seconds. Downloading files is completely out of the question.
