Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 (edited) Hi guys i've done one gr8 experiment! i have LG-RD2030 and my friend also has LG-RD2030 yesterday i went to his home and saw a wallpaper of size 274kb in his computer. i liked that wallpaper but problem was i had no floppy. so i opened bitpim in his computer and save the wallpaper in "wavelet" directory and then i opened bitpim in my computer and save the wallpaper from "wavelet" directory to computer. then i deleted the wallpaper from "wavelet" directory. so we can use our mobile as a backup device like floppy, using bitpim. Just copy the requested file from one computer in the file system of mobilewith the help of bitpim and then again copy that file to the other computer and then u can safely delete the file from mobile file system. amtrag 20 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Great find Vishal, Now the next logical step would be to find out what is the max file size we could save like this.

Code 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 I think U can put much more that - a single wavelet on my 7130 is 378 kb big - and I have stored 4 wavelets once - so my guess is it must be some where 1- 1.5 mb!! but yes - may be diff with diff models

Ashokjp 15 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 I think something of this kind was discussed earlier.. Well the space you are using for storing other files is actually reserved for specific contents such as R-World downloads, and other such stuffs..
iiii_pretender_iiii 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 hmm, So another use found for "Wavelet" directory. All i wanna say now is that dont go storing any important information in there. Cause that directory is volatile, and you may end up losing data.
Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 hey pretender if we store files in wavelet then they are safe untill we download videos from R-World so we can safely use it as a backup media. and i check other directories too such as icndl but there is some limitations when i stored that wallpaper in icndl it was storing but after some time it gave error so there is size limitation i think in all directories wavelet directory is largest and we can make use of it

Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 hey static can u tell me whats the use of "icndl" directory? what it does? and what its mean? it is an empty directory. what can we do extra with it?
StaticElectricity 8 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 good question, well, look carefully at the phone's filesystem see a folder called "meldl" ?? and then ther'es this folder called "icndl" ?? isnt it? get any ideas? well, as far as i can guess just as the "meldl" dir is used to store melodys i.e. ringtones the "icndl" would have been used for storing icons/ wallpapers but it.. for some reason , is not used. that's all i can say
