the data cable of 7130 suits the 5340 mobile.but can anyone tell me why that rectangle circuit box is needed at the mid length of the cable.will a cable without that work?

That rectangle circuit box is serial to USB converter and its required by most of LG phones. Without that mostly cables will not work.

Data cables for LG are actually serial cables witha USB interface becoz LG phones only recognize serial cables. But since newer laptops do not have a 9 pin serial com port, you get a 2-in-1 cable i.e a usb to serial converter & serial datacable for LG phones. Hence the rectangle box in the center.

You need to use only a serial driver to make that cable work.

No It will not work. I tested with RD2030 and RD7130.

Hi Ubhat,

Please purchase a cable with box in between (cable with serial to USB converter) then only it will work with your mobile. Either buy a plain serial cable and plug into serial port and install just serial driver & work.
