Now, GPS Receiver for Smart Phones

SatNav Technologies based in Hyderabad has launched a Global Positing System (GPS) Bluetooth receiver for smart phones, under its SatGuide brand.

It's a GPS SiRFIII based Bluetooth device and a total solution of GPS Bluetooth wireless technology. This is a device for users that carry portable gadgets like PDAs, smart phones, and laptops.

The receiver has maximum 10m operational range from the parent device. It's a sensitive device with 159dBm tracking that according to the company can counter any weather condition to locate any destination.

It works in sync with the mobile phones. It acts as a receiver of the signals transmitted via satellites that are converted into words on to the mobile phones.

This matchbox shape device measures 61.5x43.8x21.5 mm in dimensions and weighs around 55.2 grams (with battery).

The device has 0.1s reacquisition time with built-in ceramic patch antenna and a rechargeable Li-Ion battery. With 4 hours charging, the battery can offer nonstop 10 hours usage with 710mAh battery.

Also, the device is compatible with Bluetooth devices with Serial Port Profile (SSP) and has a non-slip back pad for protection.

Customers have a choice of opting for an all-India highway map or any number of detailed city maps of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Pune.

Priced at Rs.6000, the device comes with SatGuide software and a city map as per the customer's choice.

Thanks for the information. I'm planning to buy a GPS receiver from here in Bahrain, but they are not providing Indian Maps. When I came in India, I want to purhase that GPS system. But it sounds more cost rather than here. Here bluetooth GPS receiver costing only Bahrain Dinar 45/-. Anyway thanks for your valuable information.
