Saurav 22 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 Many times on internet we get messages like ur ip address is being broadcasted. Suppose we get to know about ip address of a person of what use can it be? Can we find out his phone number and the internet service provider which he is using? If any one knows anything related to ip addresses please enlist it over here. Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 hi saurav in my opinion IP address is the address that is provided to the computer when u are on net it changes every time when u connect net so i don't think it may be useful in finding out the phone no. or service provider anyone has any idea? StaticElectricity 8 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 the service provider can be surely found out. all u have to do is to do a WHOIS lookup on the persons IP. but generally, getting an ip address means that u can open a direct data channel to the persons machine. i'll not go too deeply into this cauz, it's kind of hacker stuff. Code 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 yeah - IP is easy as StaticElectricity said and I have even heard that U can send commands to disconnect and more ... from the net using some vulnerabilities - but these are all kinda hacker stuff and I never put my head into it. emmi 3 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 Well there r 2 types of ip s Dynamic and static. If u use a dial up then the isp provides u the ip which will be different each time u log on i.e dynamic. If u use a lan then each machine has a uniqe ip called static ip.there are 5 classes of ips which are given on the basis of their uses.
