Vishal Gupta 4 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 yah when u connect net using USB cable the cable charges ur phone while connection. u can see it when u'll attach USB cable with mobile and ur computer. the mobile's light willbe on. and u can see the charging bars increasing. i am sure that USB cables charge ur phone without any charger. amtrag 20 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 I don't think the battery gets charged automatically when using usb cable. It has happened so many times with me that during surfing, the battery gets drained and the phone switches-off by itself, with a msg "Low battery...". (I use LG 2030+USB cable). In usb cables, there is a side-port for connecting travel charger. But, there is another easier solution than purchasing a travel charger for LG...just place ur mobile on a desktop charger while surfing....most of us already know this? karpar 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2004 its happened to me too, i mean the low battery part and lots of times ive been too slow to react and it powers off. im having the desktop charger on when surfing too, wonder if itll affect the phone with both the usb cable and the charger at work together... anyone have an insight on this? Ganesh 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 usb cable can never charge the phone buddies.the maximum current that can be drawn from a single cable is too less to charge the phone battery.serial cable is better as it is simpler and cheaper for pc use .the usb cable is intented to laptop users, cos on most laptops only usb ports are available. Arun 795 Report post Posted July 2, 2004 USB cables do not charge the handset, unless it has an extra provision for it (maybe Vishal is having that?). A serial cable is always superior than USB cable as far as speed is concerned, but for R-Connect, the speed doesn't make any difference. I'm using a local serial cable (got it for Rs.275) and it has been working fine for months now. Also, many members have reported problems with uploading ringtones/wallpapers while using the USB. Utsav 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2004 OOPs We've deviated so much from the topic! By the way, I found Serial cables to be more friendly and stable.
