Honest 836 Report post Posted February 21, 2008 Geodesic's Mundu Powers Idea's Radio Geodesic Information Systems and IDEA Cellular, have jointly announced the launch of "IDEA Radio" - a Mobile Internet Radio service. IDEA Radio is built on Geodesic's Mundu Radio technology - that is designed and optimized for mobile operations. It enables IDEA's subscribers to tune into a range of exciting entertainment channels, 24 hours a day, without the need to carry a separate device, or to be within the limited range of FM radio stations. IDEA subscribers can access the service through their GPRS enabled mobile handsets. An activated, internet enabled GPRS connection is bundled with the IDEA Radio subscription. A one day free trial is available to allow subscribers to experience this first-of-its-kind offering. To avail of the offer, IDEA subscribers can SMS the keyword "IRADIO" to 55456 or point their GPRS phone browser to http://idearadio.mundu.com to download the Idea Radio client directly to their phone. Several flexible subscription options are available, including Rs. 149 per month or Rs. 10 per day. Geodesic's MD, Kiran Kulkarni, said "Mobile devices are the preferred mode of entertainment today, and the IDEA Radio implementation is representative of Geodesic’s stated strategy to provide innovative, revenue-enhancing mobile solutions to service providers. We are proud to have our Mundu Radio technology provide a competitive edge to IDEA." IDEA Cellular's Chief Marketing Officer Pradeep Shrivastava said, "We wanted to give our customers the best of breed mobile music service. Geodesic is our ideal partner because of its established presence in the mobile music space, with their unique offering Mundu Radio, customized for IDEA, allowing us to leverage their experience and providing us the competitive advantage to innovatively enhance our VAS portfolio offerings." My dear friends, this seems to be a costly service. Subscription charges for this service must be dropped if Idea wants good subscriptions for this service. Regards.
