Lg 2030 Usb Data Cable Cannot Install As Modem

Recommended Posts

Ranjan,

I guess that u must be using samsung mobile before u wish to install LG. Then you will have to remove samsung drivers manually. You can ask for the driver names and where to search for that on rconnect helpline. Tell *333 people to forward u to rconnect technical staff. After manually removing all samsung drivers and LG drivers, disable all other modems in ur system. Reboot and install a fresh. Enjoy

Sanay & Karpar,

Finally I installed that damn............modem with USB data cable bought directly from LG for Rs 1674/- yes I felt robbed at that price but when every thing fail then old saying goes "doobte ko tinke ka sahara"

It took 2 min to install without any problems on both win 2000/ XP, the difference was that the USB>>serial driver was detected & installed automatically. It seems there is a compatibility issue between the cable & the handset, there is some kind of box inbuilt with the cable & that might be having some clash with the handset.

You guys have been very helpful & I thanks you all who were helping me, but destiny wanted me to pay that 1674/- to use this so it took me that way.

I still have no clue what could be wrong with 3rd party usb cable from 7 different sources..............................this reminds me that I tried another 3 cables before getting robbed at LG, but no luck with any other cable.

I wonder how is that same cable able to work with you & other members. If I get any clue will surely post it.

Regards

Ranjan

One difference I have found in the original & 3rd party cables is that all 3rd party cables were charging the phone when connected to the usb, whereas the original cable does not do that.

Could this be the reason for my problem.

isnt there a file called LGUsbConverterDriver.exe in the folder called LGUSB?

You have to run that file...

If you can't find the FTDI Serial USB driver in your ADD/REMOVE prgs, run ftdiunin.exe to uninstall any partial installations and try again.

I think the LGUsbConverterDriver.exe in the folder called LGUSB is just the frontend for the file installusb.exe in your screenshot, so try running that if you can't find the previous file.

If none of the above works, then tell me and I'll send you the drivers...

(I'm basically lazy to upload a 3.26MB file)!

Have you checked whether the USB port in your laptop is working fine when connecting other USB based peripherals ? Also, did the cable work when you connected it to the USB port on your desktop PC ?

well guys.. i think i have something...

i had the same prob most of u ppl had.. drivers in the CD not working...

i tried all the means and none of them worked.. finally i cracked open the box in the middle of the wire and googled for the chipset inside.. i found the drivers for some ArcMicro port controller. i downloaded the drivers.

All i learnt is this.

v need to install the cable first. coz it has a chipset. i downloaded the drivers for ARK3116S chipset on driversguide. and the port was installed first.

then i tried the reliance thing and everything went of well.

so try that ARK one i told u guys.. and u still have some prob., never mind to crack open that casing and check the exact chipset thats inside.. and download drivers for that first..

Hope this helps u. All the best.

PS > The drivers of ARK3116S were not provided in the CD.
