If mobile internet is your lookout then PocketPC is a good choice. I have used EDGE enabled PocketPC for internet, but didn't experience frequent hanging. Accessing e-mail is quite easy. But internet explorer on a PPC doesn't allow applets to open. So, mobile banking is a problem. I don't have any idea on Blackberry service, anyway.

Mobile banking without fullfledged java aplet supoport and without proper browser ID, it is not possible. I tried a lot wth IE on PPC 6700, Opera Mini and also on my palm. Most banking sites requires IE6 and aboe or netscape 5 and above. In PPC if you change your browser ID then I could go upto log on screen.

Excuse me folks...i still havent got d answer for my questions... Browsing/Emailing works only with a BB Plan being activated.. BB Rental 249 Headers are free (Which gives details of the email and few lines of the body i.e. the 2 kb part of a 10kb mail comes free) Further downloads @ 50p/kb (Very expensive for further downloads and Browsing) Ideal for a person who usually carries a laptop or is happy being informed about the mail he was waiting for.. BB Unlimited 1099 Everything from unlimited emails and Browsing - no limit, no hidden charges. I think it's surprisingly charged higher than Airtel's 899/- due to better internet/download speed. Regards, ACS Sorry, i more thing, theres a diff between browsing on the BB and connecting the BB to the Laptop/PC via Data cable making the BB work only as a Modem.. Those plans are again diff and charged extra.. Which means you pay Existing rental + BB Plan Rental + Netconnect Rental ! Edited April 1, 2008 by ACS

ACS 130 Report post Posted April 2, 2008 But what about security threats like Virus/trojan attacks in Windows based Handsets.. I heard that although there being certain operational limitations, BB's cannot be touched by virus'. It now totally depends on the extent of the phone usage..
