OK guys so here's the first review of this ROM. Sorry for the late review as my Airtel Broadband was down (first time in 1.5 years) and just started today:

I have run into some minor problems while loading the new ROM. First of all -

1. No Keys are displayed on the Screen in the Dialer when dialling a no. (very irritating)

2.Memory usage starts at 66-70% whereas in G Rom it used to start at about 55-56%, but the Speed of the ROM is TOO FAST.

3. There are some serious registry problems in the programs, like e.g. when I Delete a SMS and go into the Deleted SMS Folder- and press Delete All - It opens new SMS/MMS and not the Delete All Dialog Box. I have to manually select and delete them. (very irritating) Hetal will definately sort it out.

4. Area Notification is popping up which did not pop up earlier

5. Voice Dialler is still not working as in previous roms

6. Internet Explorer Hardware Button not properly configured and giving Shortcut Target Error (I need configuration settings)

Others Problems being searched.

On the positive side

1. Windows Media Player works perfectly and plays even those avi files which were not playing even in Core Player on the earlier ROMS

2. Ring Speed has fastened within 1-1.5 rings

3. No problem in Ringtone change/silent/vibrate mode

4. No problem in theme change

5. Destinator is running directly from memory card even without installing the program in WM

6. GPS is working perfectly on both Google Maps and Destinator and I got fix in 2 minutes

What I sorely miss from G Rom-

1. claunch bar to quickly launch programs

2. Total Commander

Follow the dummies guide, or contact the person from whom you purchased the phone (most probably Sadik) to register you for Techie Enclave.

Can u select route in Destinator. because in custom rom when we select route in destinatore message says close running task because memory usage is very high

Yes, I am also facing the same problem now that I have checked. But after closing one or two applications (which presumably are running in the background) we can select the route.

OK guys, so here's the review of the fresh downloaded ROM:-

1. Keys are now being displayed on the Dialer Screen

2. Internet Explorer Hardware Key is now configured properly ( I have configured it to open Opera - Start-Settings-Buttons-Assign key) I dont know how I missed such a simple setting. The new Opera Mobile on this ROM is simply mind blowing...

Now Hetal Bhai rest of the things I can configure but there is still this one problem as I told before. Maybe it is because of the MMS software, I Donno, but this problem of when I Delete a SMS and go into the Deleted SMS Folder- and press Delete All - It opens new SMS/MMS and not the Delete All Dialog Box. I have to manually select and delete them. (very irritating) Pls let us know the rectification for that (But it is not such a major issue).

BTW this ROM also has icontacts (which is removable), but I restored my contacts to original and also kept icontacts. Had to download GoogleMaps. Set the Phone to automatically Update time from Network as time was 1/2 hr back. Rest many settings as per my choice.

Will test further... Seems a very good ROM for now...

You may not. There are Apache versions of Titan ROMs on ppckitchen.org. This ROM is strictly Titan/ Mogul. 20270 or similar ROM for Apache may be available there. Further, Olipro 2.4 is a bootloader, and is for Mogul/ Titan only. For Apache/ PPC6700, there is bootloader 2.02 which will be on your phone.

HI,

I HAD PURCHASED HTC 6800 A FEW DAYS BACK AND ITS FOR THE FIRST TIME I HAD UPGRADED THE ROM. THE PROBLEM I FACED WAS THAT I COULD NOT STOP THE SPRINT CUSTOMISATION FROM RUNNING. IT STARTS RUNNING IN JUST 3 SECONDS AND DO NOT STOP, AND ROAMING ICON APPEARS. HOW TO AVOID THIS. I HAD FOLLOWED THESE STEPS: -

First I loaded HardSPL Olipro2.4 Hard SPL MFG;

then, loaded Sprint Leaked ROM 3.56 which Contains Latest GPS Mogul Radio;

then, removed Battery and Again installed it and Hard Reset phone;

then, Extracted Extended ROM .rar file into the Micro SDCard

then loaded Hetals new ROM 20270.

OTHER PROBLEMS I FACED ARE:

phone keeps dialing to #777 again & again automatically and never get the connection and neither it stops dialing;

neither r-world nor internet (r-connect) is working, though I can make & receive calls properly;

there are no games as i had with earlier version;

no SPB interface;

PLEASE SORT OUT. I AM NOT ABLE TO USE THE PHONE DUE TO THIS RECURRING #777 PROBLEM.

REGARDS

First of all to stop Sprint customisations from running you have to be ready with your stylus in your hand and as soon as you see the customisation message, press the stylus tip inside the Reset hole below the micro SD card slot and the phone will reset.

Now for the Roaming icon, you will have to reload the reliance.prl file from QPST programming (as per dummies guide) again and that roaming icon will disappear.

Then after loading reliance.prl, you will have to reload the ROMs again. No need to reload Hardspl if you have already loaded that. But reload the Sprint ROm, stop its customisations from running, then let your PPC reboot and then copy the Ext ROM to your memory card. Remember that the sdconfig.txt file and the boot folder (both files and boot folder are given in 6800-ExRom folder) are in the root of your memory card. Then Reload Hetal's ROM.

After loading ROM fully and properly, all reliance settings and connections will come. Then Go to Settings-Connections-Connections-Advanced-Select Networks- and set Reliance World as your default Connection (because as AFAIK its charges are back to 10p/10kb-but its your risk). Also make settings in Reliance NetConnect (charges 60paise/min) by editing it and setting username and password as your 10 digit Reliance Number. You may need this connection in order to use your phone as Modem to connect your laptop etc. Keep Reliance World as default.

Now what happens when you load ROM first time, 2 things try to connect to the net to get latest updates, and that is why #777 keeps on dialling continuously till you get that update once. Those 2 programs are Weather and Quick GPS, both of which are trying to download latest info. What I would suggest is that if you have Wi-Fi, first connect to WiFi and then let those 2 programs take latest updates. That will stop them from connecting continuously in the future. After that go to Quick GPS -Menu-Option-and untick Autodownload when data expires. But remember that you will then have to manually download GPS data. Also try not to continuously click on Weather tab, so that it will also not connect to internet. BUT then whats the use of weather if you do not take latest updates from time to time, thats totally up to you. I suggested WiFi to connect to Internet, but if you do not have it, then you can use Reliance World connection also (setting of which I have just explained above)

Now Games are not there in this ROM, which I have already discussed before. They are available tons a plenty on the internet and you can install them. SPB shell is now obsolete as in this ROM the Diamond Shell interface and HTC Home interface fulfills all requirements of SPB Shell. You only have to configure it according to your needs.

Hope that solves all your problems...

Also always remember to disconnect the Rworld/Rconnect connection after you complete your work, by clicking the 1x icon and clicking disconnect or through Conn. Manager, otherwise charges will keep on piling.

Thanks vijay,

But mainly I needed only chess that was there in G Rom. It was just too good.

@tarun

I have mentioned in the last part of my post about both the issues. Spb shell is no longer needed, my friend. Games you can download from vijay's post.

You can also stop Weather from getting automatic updates by first clicking weather icon- then selecting the city, then Menu-Weather Options-Untick Download weather data automatically, and you are done.

Hi,

Please clarify:

-Should I have Antivirus installed on my HTC6800 as I use the net quite often;

if yes, can you provide me the best available option;

-There is no need for anti-virus AFAIK on windows mobile platform until you are too paranoid, if anything it will just slow things down and nothing else. I have never encountered any virus attack on mobile phone till date.

-I am not aware of .net framework for WM platform, but as this ROM is based on the latest build it will surely have whatever is the latest. Though I have never felt the need for this feature.

Do remember that WM platform has its own limitations (as on date) and it cannot substitute a full fledge Windows version. Maybe in the near future we may see some OS that may completely change that scenario, but nothing is there till date.
