manujgupta 5 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 Hey, Just shifted to Hetal's 20270 Rom....just one and am loving it....kudos to hetal bhai for such amazing stuff.... Here's my little review for the same 1. After installation, phone slowed down. But after little use an couple of resets it started working like a breeze. 2. As pointed by dkaile, phone starts with 62% used memory as compared to the G Rom, but is really fast. 3. Got my GPS fix within 15 seconds. Google maps and destinator both working fine. Destinator works directly from memory card, no installation required. Faced memory shortage in destinator while calculating route, but the program itself shows a list of programs to end to free memory. One that is done it easily calculates the route. 4. Using Destinator shifted my clock back by half an hour. Please help if anyonre has been able to crack this problem. 5. Adobe reader and winrar are missing from this rom. Installed Reader 2.0, but it really heavy. Phone hung every time i closed it. Had to uninstall it. 6. Icontact works fine except a small glitch. There s no option to end the program. It keeps on running in the background. Every time i use it i have to end it from the task manager. If anyone has a workaround, please help me with it. 7. Am unable to send or receive MMS. Hetal bhai, please help with this. More to come as i use the phone. The best part about this Rom is that it really fast. Would again like to thank Hetal bhai for his efforts. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 @manuj - Clock going back in Destinator is a universal problem. No fix till date. - Sending MMS not possible till date with reliance. That also is a universal problem. No fix till date. - I would suggest you restore contact by restorecontact.cab and use normal contacts as default. For using icontacts create a shortcut in launcher and use it as and when needed. Get the Best of both worlds. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

krispuniq 3 Report post Posted August 19, 2008 Hi guys !! I have a problem.. I tried to load hetals ROM. i could install the latest 3.56.651.0 from HTC. I tried to reset the phone when the sprint customisation starts (reset by inserting the stylus into the soft reset button) but when the fone started, it searched for network.. i got the network, but a big triangle icon is sitting beside the network icon on the top tool bar.. when i get any incoming call, I get it as "incoming roaming call " is there anything wrong wid the process?? please guide me with this.. and help me loading this ROM. i tried searching for dummies guide but i dont find it anywere. i would appreciate if anyone gives the link for that. please help i am stuck with that triangle icon!! what will be the problem wid this?? dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 19, 2008 dear phani, do take the pain to read the forum, as this problem has been discussed many a times. You need to reload the reliance.prl file through the roam tab in QPST service programming as mentioned in the dummies guide, and that's it, the roaming icon will disappear after reboot. I will give this Sprint ROM a try for a few days, till Hetal sorts these small nick nacks out and comes out with the PERFECT ROM (if he has the time). But I had not done it from QPST programming, rather than the other easy method posted a few days back by a member (Link to the post - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?s=&a...t&p=118207). After that the Roaming Icon has gone but the service providers name is still shown as Sprint instead of Reliance. Further, R-world & R-connect still not working even after changing the network settings as per your post. Rest is fine by now. Please help for R-world & R-connect. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted August 20, 2008 (edited) @tarun You will have to read the topic of using Sprint original rom posted many times by Vijay and Anupe (link available through HTC Tweaks topic-in 2nd last page) And you will have to use QPST programming to Replace the Sprint Banner with Reliance AND then you will have to load the 3 reliance cabs as per the above mentioned post AND then you will have to delete the Sprint Dialler AND then you will be able to connect to Rconnect and Rworld AS I HAVE JUST NOW BEEN ABLE TO DO @Hetal Bhai Your G ROM was the best, most stable, everything working (except voice dialling), beautiful Chess game, SO I AM PLANNING TO REVERT BACK TO G ROM after having used this new rom for 10 days now and also the original sprint rom (for a few hours).
