Saurav 22 Report post Posted May 4, 2008 With Photocontacts software running & I forgot to ending data connection using communication manager (IE closed) I got back up from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On Next day I turned Photocontacts switched off and tried my best to end data connection using Comm Manager with equivalent usage I got back up from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with almost similar Voice usage and additional half hour surfingonmobile. For using Photocontacts soft it has to always run in background. Does it consume considerable battery?? For new buyers to evaluate battery pls note that in Case of Nokia 2 months old orignal battery I was getting back up from 8 AM to 7:00 PM maximum. My voice usage is considerably high. vishnu_agni 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) I have a Nokia 6275 which I am quite happy with, and I am thinking of moving to a blackberry/ HTC phone so that I can be connected and work with emails and attachments on the go. Anybody out there who has an HTC S720 and can advise me? Features important for me- -good battery life/ talk time- I speak for 3-4 hrs every day on my mobile -good reception (the Nokia 6275 is very good) -See emails/ be able to open to attachments -Use the phone as a modem for my laptop -Not spend a fortune on the net connectivity (Blackberry is expensive in my opinion) Edited May 25, 2008 by Honest << Topic Merged >>
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 Rather than spending 16-17000 on HTC S720 which is just a smartphone go for a Moghul 6800 which Sadik Bhai has imported for around the same price which is much more superior and one of the best Pocket PC Phones in the world today. You will get all that you have mentioned and much much more (GPS being one)
Saurav 22 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 If u want to use more phone than opt for S720 as it can be used single hand. All your mentioned requirements will be met with S720. But if you use touch screen then go for 6800. you can trust Sadik. I opted for for S720 over 6800 bcz of single hand usage, warranty and bcz I make lot of conference calls so keypad was my requirement.

Thanks Dkaile, Saurav for your inputs- -I think a keypad maybe faster for me than touchpad- have to write using a stylus on a touchpad right? -I also make a lot of conference calls, but not understanding how keypad is linked to conference calling -How will 6800 work with reliance if I go for that? -Does the speakerphone work well on both these models- I use speakerphone a lot Thanks
Saurav 22 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 @ vishnu To make a conference call keypad helps to dial the number easily and quickly whereas in touchscreen it will be a little more time consuming. Speaker phone is good for calls but volume of MP3 played is low. I think same is also also applicable for 6800.
dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted May 25, 2008 -First of all 6800 has a full fledge sliding QWERTY keyboard (also on S720) besides a touchscreen. There is no difference in speed/time consuming using a keypad/touchpad. Beleive me I have been using similiar screens for over 2 years now. It is just a matter of time to getting used to it. -Conference call does not make any difference whether on touchscreen or keypad. -6800 is fully operable on Reliance. Read programing topics. I had mine running after a few minor glitches within 30 minutes. -Speakerphone on 6800 though not very loud is distinctively clear (but I have heard louder speakerphones) but It is better than S720's. MP3 is very clear.

I strongly disagree with you. I am using this phone last 1 month. Though its different from Nokia but I am getting better battery back up. I have not faced any hanging problem. The only thing it lacks is support from techies on this form. So I have to search and try programs myself. It lacks HETAL'S ROM a.....g I am having a very good experience with Net surfing on Mobile. Excel & Word & Mail attachments possible. Ringtones is my Problem but I hope to get a solution soon. It lacks Camera Zoom as compared to Nokia 6275, but I use camera very rarely. THe pictures taken by S720 have a very good clarity. I hope to get Windows 6.1 for S720 soon.

nawalsingal 1 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 I found the following on a site"Wm6 comes normally with Internet Connection Sharing. However, it is disabled on S720. You can either look for the cab files to enable it " Does it mean that making a netconnect dialer on S720 has been disabled? Reliance says it has no Rworld, can I surf websites on S720 similar to what I do on my 6275? Bekaar handset.phone simply hangs when trying to make outgoing call. Echo in incoming call. No support. Waste of Rs. 18500. Contacts failed to synchronize despite all efforts. dkaile 1,051 Report post Posted July 3, 2008 Dear Nawal First of all kindly do not double post. You have already opened a New topic for the same subject. But I do sympathise with you because it is quite frustating when you get a new handset (and a costly one at that) and it does not work properly. My answer to your problem is the same which I have posted in your direct topic which is- "^^^^ Nawal, my dear friend it seems you are a victim of a defective handset, because 100's of our forum members are using HTC phones with brilliant connectivity and voice quality. As you must have purchased the same on bill you should escalate your complaint with HTC regional offices in India and they will surely change your handset. I on my part am using 2 HTC 6800 Moguls imported from USA and they work brilliantly and almost flawlessly. If you will read my posts in S720 topic, you would realise that you should have gone for 6800 from our in house importer Sadik at a much lower cost than what you have invested and would have got double the features of S720. Do not despair and get your handset replaced."

Contacts failed to synchronize despite all efforts. There are problems in handsets but I have never experieced problems similar to you. I have not experienced hanging problems while making calls, but ofcourse handset hangs when u run many applications or its exposed to heat, direct sunlight for a long period. Echo in Incoming calls- NONE I experience problem in voice clarity only when I am travelling in a bus. Contacts sync was never a issue. One of the major problem is that I am attracted by rimwebian posts to purchase 6800 or Pal based 755. I am searching for someone to buy my handset for atleast 16500/- (To pay the same to SADIK BHAI). But at the same time I think I will miss keypad while using 6800 as I am not used to touchscreen.

There is ABSOLUTELY no problem of Echo in incoming calls in my handset. does not hang at all. and there is no SYNC issue. Its a pretty neat phone except for two problems: 1> Poor Battery Life (I am just unable to figure out why I am having poor battery life on my phone. Bluetooth is always off. Internet is mostly off. Backlight settings are all set at bare minimum. But other users have posted that they are getting amazing battery life. Some international forum users have also posted poor battery life though. Just cant get this one. 2> Too slippery sliding keyboard. The keyboard keeps sliding every now and then in the pocket. (and no this is not the reason why the battery drains out faster on my handset)
