tanume 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Attention all Reliance NetConnect Users (Please treat this as very important): I was an active and regular user of Reliance NetConnect (http://www.rcom.co.in/webapp/Communications/rcom/Netconnect/rm_netconnect.jsp) until October 2007 when I changed my plan to "pay as we go option". After this change, when I received my new bill in October 2007, I saw that they have added following items in the bill: Monthly charges Advance monthly rental charge RNJ149 18-09-2007 to 07-10-2007 116.00 Advance monthly rental charge RNJ149 08-10-2007 to 07-11-2007 174.00 Reliance netconnect subscription RCFreedom 18-09-2007 to 07-10-2007 16.67 Monthly charges - CLIP 16.67 Total monthly charges 523. 34 Firstly I send an email to the customer care that they have not notified any such advance rental by email/call/sms to me, nor they have put it in the website. SECONDLY, MOST IMPORTANT, THEY ARE LEVYING A CLIP CHARGE OF RS `16.67 WHICH ACCORDING TO TRAI DIRECTIVE IS OPTIONAL FOR THE CUSTOMER OR FREE. RELEVANT TRAI ORDER IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THE EMAIL. However, for the lack of time, I could not file appropriate complaints in relevant courts and last week they have sent me a legal notice. In view of this, I am REQUESTING the SUBSCRIBERS OF RELIANCE NETCONNECT TO CHECK THEIR BILL IF CLIP CHARGES ARE LEVIED EXTRA. IF YOU SEE THAT IS HAPPENING, PLEASE SEND ME AN EMAIL/CALL SO THAT WE CAN FILE A JOINT PETETION BEFORE THE COURT AGAINST THIS MALPRACTICE OF RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS. Arun 795 Report post Posted April 20, 2008 Did you give any request for activation of CLIP? I do not see any CLIP charges in my Reliance NetConnect bill. I'm not sure why they aren't offering CLIP for Free when TRAI has an order for providing free CLIP to postpaid customers. I have enquired this once, but Reliance just said CLIP is chargeable. I have placed no request for CLIP activation. When I migrated from 650 to 174 rs plan, they started charging the CLIP.
Honest 836 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 ^^^ @Tanu My dear friend, Trai had ordered all operators to charge for CLIP as an optional service. That means if a subscriber needs a CLIP facility then only the operator can charge for it. Earlier the CLIP service was mandatory and was charged as per the tariff plans. Clip charges is optional in this "pay as you go" plan also. Actually, when you had given the request to change your net-connect plan, it was their duty to ask you that if you want the optional CLIP service or not. Regards. Even the extreme step to file a PETITION against Reliance is not necessary. Simply ask them not to charge for CLIP from next month (as per billing cycle) and write a complaint letter and try to get reverting back the amount of the CLIP charges they took in previous bills. And yes CLIP is an OPTIONAL service for POSTPAID customers and FREE for prepaid customers These days its too good to stay on LIFETIME PREPAID. You save on rentals. You save on charges for extra copy of billing statement. You save on overall SERVICE tax on rental and usage. You save on Internet Charges and FREE peace of mind. Remember Rs.1/min in Postpaid means Rs.1 plus service tax, thats equal to Rs.1.12. Add rental to it and you wont believe what you are paying for around 100 to 200 calls. Rs.1 in lifetime prepaid means Rs.1 I recharge with Rs.222 and get 222 talktime. No service tax hassle. Edited April 22, 2008 by cmahendra
